Great staff, felt very welcome and they could answer any questions we had. The pool, WiFi, food, drinks were all great. We were in the B&B down the road and the room was one of the nicest we've had in 9months travelling. Lots of room to hang wet clothes/towels outside too. It's near a bus stop with bus passing frequently

Such friendly staff - we only stayed one night but the guy who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. Great location, short walk to museums. Huge room, felt very safe with a buzzer to let us in, nice courtyard around reception & filtered water in the kitchen.

Friendly, helpful staff who spoke English. Organised horseriding for us and we were able to rent rubber boots instead of using our hiking boots. I would recommend this for Wax Palms hike - it was REALLY mucky and slippy. So glad to have wellies! Just off the square so close to everything. The bathroom didn't have a sink which we found strange and slightly frustrating for washing hands, face, teeth but we still liked the room otherwise. Chilled out and quiet hostel

Staff were great - helped us book tours and figure out what to do. Felt very safe as front gate was nearly always padlocked. We loved our room & aircon! We didn't expect a cold shower (no hot tap) but it was fine in the humid weather. Unfortunately we slept very badly due to noise from other inconsiderate guests on the balcony during the night..I even had to get up on the last night twice to ask people to turn down music/stop shouting down the phone. We all like to party, but I like my sleep too!

We don't have much Spanish, but one of the guys who was there at night had good English and helped us out. Place is very nice and safe. Terrace upstairs was really nice and shaded. We got our laundry done here, which wasn't too expensive after we settled on a price because we had a ton of washing. Breakfast was great and fresh: coffee, OJ, fruit, bread and eggs.

Really nice hostel with a "greenhouse" common area/kitchen/ garden area which was really unique - the illusion of being outside which was nice! Staff are brilliant, especially the main guy running the place. He helped us with everything from laundry to haircut. He came with us to translate which was very helpful and appreciated! He recommended a full day of activities! Breakfast was hot drinks, fruit and delicious bread- we're not big "bread for breakfast" fans but this was fresh and tasty!

Shared toilets could be cleaner & soap and toilet paper replaced straight away. Room was nice, but we found it too warm. When we opened the window we had mosquitos etc. which buzzed around my ears & unfortunately I had bites on my face in the morning. We were told no mosquitos in San Pedro but there definitely were! Breakfast and staff were really good - v little eng but so nice and helpful. Location is fine if you can walk 10-15mins in the heat. It was v dark at night so bring a torch

Nice staff - young German guy who checked us in was v friendly and helpful, as we're American girls who seemed to be new. Breakfast is a piece of fruit, toast or waffles, hot drinks and spreads. Location is very good, easy walk to Bellevista. We had a huge double room - it was awesome! Loved the building, except the v creaky floors!

Lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. They have lots of tour options. We paid for the bbq night: it turned out to just be 3 of us - I would recommend it though, it was delicious! Our room was quite warm because the air con kept switching off but we had a fan too. Washing machine is free to use & you can hang clothes on the rooftop terrace. Unfortunately a pair of Nike running leggings worth $50 went missing belonging to me..the staff did look for them but we never got them back.

Our room was nice, cleaned everyday. Staff were so friendly and helpful, even though we have poor Spanish they tried to help us out. It doesn't have a common area so feels more like a hotel. Our bus was at 20.50 so we couldn't shower beforehand unfortunately. The breakfast was pastries and drinks. There is a tiny kitchen but you could cook if you really wanted to. We just used it to make lunches and boil eggs. V close to everything. Restaurant underneath is excellent and lovely staff.

Staff were nice, but didn't find they were able to help us that much. Not much atmosphere around. Went to avail of the free dinner but gave up and left after waiting at the bar for 10mins to be served. Breakfast was OK, sugar fest but if you're on a budget it's probably fine. There was fruit. Room was fine, old but what we expected. Not much of an atmosphere around the hostel when we were there

Very clean and modern hostel. Thought there was a lack of bathrooms upstairs for the number of rooms, but there were some downstairs too. Lovely area outside to relax. Thai container near by is excellent for food. Very close to bus to airport. Staff were very nice and helpful!

Wei was a fantastic host - he is very friendly and kind and we enjoyed spending time talking to him. He made us delicious dinners and breakfast before we set off on our day, with fresh fruit, coffee, tea and toast. He gave us advice on where to rent bikes and the routes we could take. We spent a day doing this and really enjoyed it. Wei collectd us in arrival and booked our onwards bus journey for us, and even put on the bus which saved us a lot of time.

Location is fantastic - so close to everything. We slept very well but just walk 2mins and you are in the hustle and bustle of Nanjing road. Facilities to do washing, buy washing powder , toothpaste etc at reception. Kitchen and common rooms a bonus as we didn't find these in other Chinese hostels. Breakfast and sandwiches were very good! Unfortunately found the girls at reception unfriendly and disinterested - avoided asking them for help after a while. Not very suitable for front of house!!

Cool bar and nice breakfast, but a bit expensive for what we were used to in hostels in China. We had a double room ensuite - it was huge and a really big comfy bed, and nice bathroom! 20 min walk to bus and train station. Very easy to get to terracotta warriors. 1min from metro station

Great location within walking distance to many sites. Rick and Rachel are so helpful and friendly. Good breakfast -we tried both Chinese and western,v good value. The courtyard is very nice and peaceful, the wifi was very good for china, and beer water etc. was very reasonable. Upon arrival they gave us a three day itinerary and information about trips to the great wall. We found this very useful and did follow some of their suggestions. We also went on the Great Wall trip & really enjoyed it!

Had a great stay in Penzy's guesthouse. Very quiet at night, able to have a good sleep. Very close to shop for water and snacks. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Walk or cheap tuk tuk/ taxi to centre of nightlife. Stroll across the road to beautiful beach. The location was excellent and had the best of both worlds - beach and town. Penzy and staff were so helpful and friendly and helped us organise any trips. Would recommend anyone to stay here and you will not be disappointed.
