Amazing amazing amazing! Couldn't believe the good value! Great room in an appartment in an old town side street. Wonderful service and great recommendations on places to eat and drink. We tried them all and they were fab. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Hostel Miran

Miran is such a character and a great host! BUT we were in the double room which connected the kitchen, separated only by a window down and sheer lace curtain. No privacy! We had to try and hang our towels over the curtain to keep the light out and make sure people couldn't see us getting changed. We could also hear every sound from the kitchen. Apart from that Miran made sure everything was great. His tours are what really draw people in.

Clean, white linen, great shower. Central location. They didn't provide us with a city map, but they did give us great restaurant recommendations. We did Residence Rooms' siege tour, but it was a bit all over the place. The free Sarajevo walking tour us HEAPS better!

Stayed here at the last minute and so glad we did! Super central, close to shops, restaurants, but still really quiet at night. We were in the double room which is in a separate appartment and we had the whole place (kitchen, cable tv, lounge room, etc) to ourselves! Awesome

Welcoming, helpful staff. Good, clean facilities. It's a bit of a walk to old town though.

Amazing staff. They basically acted as our travel agents helping us book accom and transport all over Serbia. Room was huge, they always offered us tea and coffee, and the location is excellent. Right in the centre, next to everything.

Great value for money. Huge breakfast -both Turkish and European foods. The staff went out of their way to help us organise tours. They also reccomended great restaurants. Very central location. Having a TV with English channels was a nice bonus too.

Amazing place to chill. The pool was fab. The shuttles to town are useful. The only annoying thing is we thought breakfast and dinner were included, but you have to pay extra for that. Having said that, the meals were hearty and delicious ( vegetarian on both nights we were there).

Basic room, ensuite toilet falling to pieces, some staff were lovely while one guy looked pissed off every time we asked him a question, pool wasn't open while we were there, but location was fab and the breakfast was great

Arif Hotel and Pension

Great cave room! Great breakfast, friendly useful information about the local tours, restaurants, attractions. Do the recommended Green Tour! The only minor con - the bed wasn't that comfy, and the cave room didn't block out outside sound, but the experience of staying in a fairy chimney made this all worth it. Plus, the location is phenomenal - amazing sunset and sunrise views from the terrace

Good security, good wifi in kitchen, very basic breakfast, great location near cool cafes and bars but it's s bit of a mission to get to the old town from there, but totally worth. Won't find better value, I don't think

Great chill out areas, both inside and outside in the terrace gardens. Basic brekkie, good dinner, really helpful staff, the place was always clean. Can't fault this place!

Retox Party Hostel

There are much better party hostels out there. This is ONLY for hardcore 18 year old partyers. Bathroom was foul, there was nowhere to leave our backpacks safely (only next to the bed). Everyone was nice enough, and the bar was good, I just felt pretty old as a 22 year old....

Best place ever. Best location! It was more like a private apartment, but with really helpful people to show you where to go/what to do. Cannot believe the value for money!

Bad location, too far away to walk to the old town, so you have to wait for the bus. Nice enough rooms though

Blind Eye Hostel & Guest House

Efficient, helpful staff, clean rooms, bathrooms two floors below were slightly annoying as was the locker room style shower rooms, but no biggie. As I said, staff were legends. And you're out of the main tourist trap so eating out locally is heaps cheaper

Really chilled, AWESOME breakfast. First day we arrived the receptionist was in the midst of dusting icing sugar onto crepes filled with berries and mango! On other days there was bacon, eggs, waffles, all delicious! Great location too.

Good value, great spreads for breakfast and dinner ( heaps of fruits and veg, not just pastas etc), clean bathrooms, atmos was chilled during the day and perked up at night. A lot would depend on who's also staying there, but luckily we had some legends around while we were there!

It's like a hostel on top of a home, so you walk in and through their living room with the hosts and their baby just chilling in there before you get to your room. Rooms were nice and clean. Bathroom/showers were average. The host made choc muffins for breakfast, and the whole hostel smelt amazing - like freshly baked deliciousness. Very close to metro line which was good too. No real atmos, but I guess the quietness was good
