Residenza Sveva

Bari, Italy

Emailed the property on the day about arrival time (we were arriving after 10pm) and got no response. Couldn't find the hostel when we got to Bari so booked a hotel as the owner still hadn't emailed back and it was late. Later found an email from the property sent three days before our stay requesting an arrival time so it was partially my own fault for not responding. I still thought it was exceptionally poor service in that I never got a reply to my email.

Albergo Sandra

Rome, Italy

One of the cheapest places we could find in Rome and considering the price, can have no complaints. The owner was friendly and the location was excellent. The hotel itself looks like it hasn't been done up since the 70s but again considering the price and location I'd still recommend

Camping Rialto

Venice, Italy

The directions from the train station are terrible. We ended up getting a taxi. The staff were very hit and miss. Some were helpful and others were extremely unhelpful. The cabins are smaller than they appear in the pictures but are OK. We had to pay for WiFi and we could only use it a certain area and it was VERY slow. The most annoying thing was that the hot water seems to be shut off during the day, which would be fine if they made you aware in advance. Wouldn't recommend even for the price

Jazz Hostel & Apartments

Bled, Slovenia

We spent five weeks traveling around Europe and this was by far the best hostel we stayed in. Jani was an excellent host and made everything so easy. On top of that, Bled is a really nice place and we ended up booking an extra night because we enjoyed our stay so much

Enjoyed our two nights in this hostel. The bar is ridiculously cheap and there's a great atmosphere. The rooftop terrace is nice too. Checking in takes a while because they require so much personal information from you. Instead of a deposit on the key, you have to leave an ID (you're not allowed use your passport for this) behind reception for your entire stay which seems a bit over the top.

PLUS Berlin

Berlin, Germany

We spent five weeks interailing around Europe and this was one of the nicest hostels we stayed in. More of a hotel than a hostel really. Facilities are excellent, staff were helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. The only drawback for us really was that there isn't a kitchen. There's a microwave in one of the common areas instead.

Lybeer Travellers' Hostel

Bruges, Belgium

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful from the moment we checked in. The room we stayed in was very modern and looked like it had been recently renovated. The bar was cheap and the atmosphere was good. No kitchen for cooking your own food at the moment.

Our stay was fine considering this was one of the cheapest hostels in Paris. Location is good; close to the metro so you can get anywhere you need to go without much hassle. Room was clean. WiFI only works downstairs which was more annoying that I thought it would be. The breakfast is basic but it doesn't cost any extra which is good.
