International Budget Hostel

I loved this hostel, had a fantastic smokers area (and a cat!) decent wifi and good beds. There are steep stairs but totally worth it IMO. Receptionists were really nice and helpful, and although there is no kitchen you can keep food in the fridge and reception can heat things up for you etc. Decent location, maybe 15-20 mins walk from the central red light district, but theres still a good amount of shops/food/coffeeshops in this area, plus a tram stop 2 mins away. Would definitely recommend!

Let's Rock Hostel

Krakow, Poland

Good location near the old square, has a nice common area and small kitchen, but atmosphere was a bit lacking and it was hard to meet people here. Reception was lovely, but the beds were very uncomfortable (thin foam mattress) and rickety, plus the wifi wasnt good (and unless youre on the first floor you dont get any in the rooms). This was an incredibly average hostel tbh, not bad for a few nights, but you could probably do better for the money.

Maverick City Lodge

Very new and clean, good kitchen and bathrooms although the common area near reception was usually empty so it was a bit hard to meet people here. Rooms are great for privacy (own little cubicle with curtains, light and charger socket) but not so good for socializing. Great location in the Jewish Quarter, right near a heap of bars, clubs and food joints. The guys working at reception were really nice and knowledgeable. Decent wifi too. Probably better for groups, but defs value for money here

Really good facilities here, everythings new and clean and the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful (super shout out to Roman at the bar!). Good location, maybe 10 mins walk to the opera house and of course its right near the food market, supermarkets and metro station. Breakfast was decent for the price, otherwise the kitchen is well equipped too. Good wifi and pretty easy to meet people here. Beds were comfy and the showers really good. Would recommend for groups and solo travelers

Hostel Marabou

Located pretty far from the old town, nearest tram stop is about 800 meters away and it'll take 10-20 mins to get into town via public. Martin at reception was awesome and super friendly/helpful, but the rest of the staff were pretty meh. Amazing smokers room/chill out zone downstairs with pool table, and upstairs common areas too, however the atmosphere was a little lacking here, as a solo traveler it was a bit hard to meet people. Ok beds and showers (have to hold a button for water though)

Odyssee Globetrotter Hostel

Berlin, Germany

Only one key per room and the lockers are very narrow and noisy. Beds decent. has a good smoking area and courtyard + an awesome kitchen. Staff were ok, only one guy was ever actually really helpful though. Atmosphere was pretty low when I was here (Xmas!) and it was a littl hard to meet people here, although they do have some good common areas and a pool table. Ok location (better for clubbing I think), but the nearest metro is still a good 10/15 minute walk. Would probably recommend for groups

St Christopher's Camden

Good location right in Camden, a few mins walk from the metro + markets, kinda seedy area though, and the hostel bar and corner out the front are usually full of homeless/creepy people (they will approach you). Staff were pretty knowledgeable and friendly, but could be a little rude and unprofessional at times. There is a common room downstairs however it was empty like 90% of the time. Comfy beds, decent showers (but no wifi in rooms).. probably wouldn't recommend for solo travelers
