Super friendly staff, booked tours for us at really good prices. They were very helpful. They also have skype in the lobby which is great. And it worked out to be a very good place to meet people (in the rooms).
Loved the place, great bar, great place to meet people. Friendly employees (make sure they tell you the right prices for buses etc., maybe ask the girls at reception and maybe ask more than one person independently). What I did find strange is that the girls just walk into the dorm while everybody is still sleeping and they just hang out there until they can start cleaning.
We stayed there twice. Cool place, great bar, friendly staff. Just make sure they don't tell you wrong prices and charge you a dollar more for the bus (try and ask two staff members independently).
Can strongly recommend it. Both private rooms and dorms are nice.
Pros: very nice staff, very helpful, arranged very friendly tuck tuck driver Richard for us. Breakfast was nice. Free wlan and internet, great. Cons: The room was fan only and on the ground floor so no opening the window during the night and very very hot (it wasn"t that clear through this website why one room was cheaper, so book the more expensive one for AC). I'd recommend cleaning a little better in the rooms.
It's a party hostel but they kept it down after 23:00, great place, ladies nights on Tuesday :) Clean, funny and you"re doing something good by staying there. I loved it. Staff could improve their English a little.
I liked the place a lot, friendly staff. Laundry is super expensive at the hotel, but the staff helped me to find a cheaper one. Breakfast was nice.
awesome place, great kitchens, clean
I liked the hostel. Very friendly staff. No lockers in the rooms, which I find a disadvantage. Otherwise fine.
great, friendly place. Beautiful kitchen and superfriendly staff. Great place. I loved it!
I loved it. Would definitely recommend it again.
This is one of the dirties hostels I'Ve stayed in. It was an 8 bed dorm, shared with a couple of long stay guests who occupied every bit of the room, so no space for my stuff. Overcrowded. Please don't let the long stays stay with the short stay guests. The bathroom was ensuite and the toilet brush and the bathroom were so dirty, I almost threw up. Superunfriendly bumpers with the DJ competition and hard to get to the kitchen. Very, very unpleasent place. Cannot recommend to stay t.here
The manager is really really nice, the hostel is a bit far from the center. Its an onld building, not purpose built and the hostel could use a refurbishment. Otherwise it is quite a compfy place.
Great hostel, great place to stay, free wifi, beautiful dorms, well maintained, great bar, met many friendly travellers.
I loved it. Nice, central, clean, helpful staff, great bar, great people
We stayed at a room without safe and trusted the reception staff that assured us, that they took full responsibility that nobody would steal money from us and that we could stay in a room without a safe (350 Reals were missing when we got back). My fault I trusted them. The room is the price of a double room at any four star hotel in Copacabana that are in a better place, safer and cleaner. The toilet leaked and it was very noisy in the courtyard. No place to meet fellow travellers.

The staff didn't have a clue about walking tours or where things were.
I liked especially the open fire place, the staff was very friendly. I didn't enjoy the signs much that tell you about how your mom isn't there for cleaning up after you in the kitchen. Atmosphere a little forced.
The hostel is really close to the port so its easy to walk any time of night or day. The hostel doesn't really have a living room, just a small place with chairs. Breakfast was great with the fresh bread and real coffee. They have a garden so when it's sunny, great place to hang out. They should sell drinks there. Great kitchen but the dining room could be a little more comfortable, it's pretty cramped.
Nice people, great value for money especially with the free meals from monday to wednesday. Easy to meet people and perfect that they have a bar downstairs. Great place to stay even though as a girl, better book a female dorm.
La Lechuza is the best place I stayed at during a months of travel in Latinamerica. The owner is really friendly and from when I entered the house, they welcomed me with my name. Best atmosphere, very nice roof terrace but it's because the hosts are really hosts and you feel like an invited guest rather than somebody who pays for lodging. The other travellers were really friendly too and it was just great to hang out there.
