Oxford Backpackers Hostel

It was an ok place. Beds weren't terrible, showers were good, staff was friendly. Nowhere comfortable to sit - need to replace couches and get rid of picnic tables for real tables and supportive chairs. Breakfast was basic, but confusing - plates, toaster & utensils in kitchen - wash yourself and food was in common room. Room had no security other than the door and no chance for separate female dorms. Also zero space in the toilets. Not the worst place, but probably wont stay again

The 8 bedroom dorm I stayed in was better than the female one I got this time. No sink or mirrors in the room, Lockers outside the room and the top row so high up I couldn't reach even with the plastic stools provided. Not enough electrical outlets and no lift to the top floor. Wifi only in communal areas, lunch/dinner food is just microwavable dinners. Not the best stay of my life - had to make my own bed and carry sheets down for check out after paying a surplus fee for not being a member.

Hi there, thanks with the 7.1. We regret we did not meet all your expectations. We are a hostel though, so making your bed and carry down your bedsheets is really part of the experience. Maybe next time you could opt for our sisterhostel Stayokay Vondelpark; there we have lifts, make up your bed (not included) and you do not have to carry down your sheets. Feel free to use a locker which you can reach next time, not a problem at all. We have no surplus, just a discount if you're a member.

Located a short walk from the bus terminal and only 4 tram stops from the train station, this was a great place to stay! Staff were very nice and the rooms/bathrooms were really clean. The luggage room is securely locked and although there are lockers in the room, they are very skinny and difficult to fit large bags in (lock not included). Electrical plugs could be provided for each bed, and the lift took years to arrive when called. But I would 100% stay here again - it was the perfect place!

Far from the city centre and the tram stop. Poor directions led me the wrong way You have to make your own bed, but everything was clean - except some mould in the showers. Staff were helpful and very nice. No wifi in the rooms. There is a lift and breakfast starts at 6am! Despite the location and the price, due to other hostels being rated poorly, I would stay again - trams are easy to use, though for the price, it would be nice to get a transit pass like other hostels in Switzerland.

A good hostel and really close to the train station! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and the showers were big enough to bring your things in with you to change afterwards. My only 2 issues were: The blue room was next to the kitchen and therefore was really loud when people were talking; and the motion lights in the shower room don't stay on long enough for a full shower - I had to come out of the shower to make the lights come on again. But otherwise a great hostel!

Perfectly placed just outside the red light and cannabis districts, but a 5-10min walk to everything including Central station! A very clean hostel and mostly quiet. Good showers, huge lockers in rooms, comfy beds, and great breakfast! Staff were awesome - very helpful! Would be nice to have wifi in rooms, but at least we had it in the hostel. We had a really great time at this hostel and will absolutely stay here again!

This was a great hostel to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. Perfectly located close to Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge, and 2 metro stations - Gare du Nord being the central one to go anywhere in the city. Staff were really nice. Breakfast was basic but good. Safe area, quiet hostel. Showers had good pressure and room to change. Only 1 toilet/floor - can be difficult to wait. Pillows could be thicker, but beds always made and room always clean. A perfect stay in Paris for sure!

The staff and location were amazing, but the facilities lacked enough I wont stay here again. Main problem: the showers which sprayed water everywhere while needing to be pumped to stay on. Least pleasant experience of my life. Beds were very uncomfortable and duvets and pillows were too thin. Lockers don't even fit a standard hikers backpack. Not at all what I've come to expect from St Christopher's hostels - and this is my 4th one! Very disappointed.

if you're looking for a hostel in this end of town, you'll be happy to know it's clean and kind of the perfect place to stay for people looking for a good time! In the centre of everything!

Be Dream Hostel

Clean, cheap, very close to a really nice beach. NOT 15mins from anything in Barcelona. Close to metro but almost impossible to find - inset btw2 buildings; staff not really friendly (except 1 girl); busy painting, but nothing done about hand dryers not working, no soap dispensers, &showers that dont stay on. Told staff: roomies don't close the door (security), but she just shrugged and did nothing - not even a note on the door. If you want ppl to stay so far out u have to make it worth it!

Amazing! Staff was awesome, hostel was super clean on every floor, lounge was nice and there are movies you can rent for free! Location was amazing - only about 5-10min walk from the old town and Mirabel Gardens. Tours are set up by the hostel and you get a discount, but they don't sell u something u don't need! City map provided was the best I've gotten in Europe! Outlined tour routes and important places! Possibly the best stay I've had yet in Europe - highly recommend staying here!

Centrally located and free wifi in the rooms are the only perks. The place was almost void of people and there is really no staff (although there are people who stay there and help out - like Ryan). Shower was disgusting with mold and dirt, bathroom sink was plugged & full of water the whole time, even the sponges to clean your dishes are gross. There are lockers in the rooms, but the room has no lock and the main door is unlocked at all times. Mike was super nice, but almost nonexistent.

Fantastic place! Amazing staff, clean rooms, wonderful atmosphere and perfect location (across from train station). And they really do provide free breakfast AND dinner! (both are well balanced and healthy too!)... Feels like you're walking into someone's home and everything is easy to find from the hostel. HIGHLY recommended!

Terrible experience: linens were 'clean' with hair (long and short) all over them. Had to make the bed myself with a stained mattress, pillow and duvet. Toilet seat had every bodily function covering it. Chose a mixed dorm, but was only girl in 9 guys (2 of whom were quite possibly homeless drunks) - not the safest feeling. Shower room possibly never cleaned - products on the ledge had fuzz growing under them from lack of use. Staff was nice and refunded rest of stay - went to St Christophers

A nice place. Staff is nice but it's an impersonal place. Very clean rooms/bathrooms. Tiny showers in the rooms - like a portable toilet with a shower. Use the communal showers if you can - they're bigger. Bar/restaurant is expensive and doesn't have a wide variety of food and the atmosphere is forced. Laundryroom must be opened by front staff. A good stay and the best location you could ask for!!!

I can't say enough good things about this hostel: comfy beds, very clean! the drain got clogged and when I told them, it was fixed same day! wifi not avail in all rooms, but i wasn't there for that! bar has a smoking room which is great - located on the oldest street, in the heart of Amsterdam's 'sub-culture'. There's a lot of noise on the street outside, but if you're not a restless sleeper, it won't bother you. Don't change a things guys (mostly the price!)!!! Will be back!

Really enjoyed my stay. Hotel for a hostel price and breakfast included - loved it. Carpets were a bit stained and had silverfish in the bathrooms, but the place was generally clean and well maintained. Not dead central, but close enough - the staff have maps and easy directions ready for guests to go anywhere and everyone is super nice, friendly and speak brilliant English!

Amazing! Highly recommended! Staff give any info needed & are super friendly - even help with bags! Safe in the room made me feels very secure. Quiet rooms, directly across from the cheapest place to eat in Rome (with good food), literally a 3min walk from Termini, and did I mention AMAZING staff?! Super cheap too - would choose this over a hostel any day! This is the place to stay! It's not a hostel though, so don't expect a common room and such things.

Good location: 1min from subway and bikemi station and not far from city centre. Very clean: beds & washrooms are cleaned everyday. Elevator was awesome 4 bags! Staff was friendly, but most didn't speak a ton of English, so finding out info was a little difficult. No lockers, so be prepared, but you can keep your bags behind reception too. Only drawbacks: uncomfortable beds, giving up your key every time you leave, and no common room to meet ppl. Breakfast is a croissant & drink. Recommended!

Although it sounds like the drawbacks are more than the pluses, it comes down to what your looking for, but I do really recommend this hostel Pluses: Beds really comfortable; staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful; very clean Drawbacks: the '2nd floor' is up about 4 flights of stairs, but staff helped; directions sound like its somewhat close to the subway, but with a ton of luggage it took me a 1/2hr; no kitchen; only 1 shower/gender; located a good distance from the city centre
