Holland House is a great hostel if you get it at a good price. An ideal location for completing internships due to it's central location. But is otherwise expensive, and I believe that the offer price is only advertised on hostelworld.
This hostel is great for partying or for a good weekend in Barcelona. This hostel is large in size, the staff are helpful and have all of the information you need at hand. The atmosphere was poor for me as it was very touristy and party-like (some people enjoy this kind of atmosphere, and there's no problem with that) it just wasn't for me. The swimming pool and gym are not part of the hostel, that's in a building next door. And you have to think, would you really use those facilities in Barc?
The receptionist was very rude, and overcharged us to begin with. The building was mostly empty and deserted, good for an overnight stay but not any longer. It´s best to camp in the area, as it is cheaper and will most likely have better facilities.
In all honesty, this is not a "hostel" as most of us know it. It is a luxury apartment where the varnished wooden floor bedrooms have been converted into dorms. The owner and his partner are very friendly and relaxed, the kitchen is lovely and modern as is the rest of the apartment.
This hostel had a strange atmosphere, it was well-kept and modern and clean. But it just felt a little dull. The dorms have a lot of beds in, the people that you meet are likely to be great; but without these people it would be a dull experience.
