It was a lovely small hostel and the owner was friendly and helpful. It was safe and quiet.

Hotel San Giovanni

Milan, Italy

It was generally ok. Nothing stood out and nothing was particularly bad. It was a bit far far from the city centre (30+min walk) but it wasn't too big a deal as there was a subway (not the metro) fairly close by.

All in all, a brilliant hostel with amazing & helpful staff. Location was alright, just opposite the Millennium Stadium, a few minutes walk from the bus/rail station. It was very clean, there were enough power sockets in the dorm to go around and the toilets were also clean & spacious. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at in Europe.

Smart Russell Square Hostel

London, England

Decent & safe location, fairly clean (especially considering the construction/renovation works). Typical hostel fare for breakfast - toast, cereal, milk, coffee/tea. Only complaint would be a lack of power sockets in the room.

Old Town Vogue Hostel

Bucharest, Romania

This hostel was very value for money. It has a good location in the Old Town and it was very easy to get to places. The hostel is also one of the cleanest I've ever been at with excellent beds & mattresses. The staff were also very friendly and helpful in every aspect. I suppose my only complaint is that it's located very near bars & clubs and the music & drunken revelry outside did keep me up some nights. All in all, I had an excellent stay at the Old Town Vogue Hostel.

Overall it was grand. Too few wall sockets though.

YHA Manchester

Manchester, England

It was a decent stay, pretty much what you'd expect with the price you're paying. Paying for computer use is understandable, not so for wifi access. The hostel was clean and security was good. It is possible to walk to the city centre & other main attractions, but it can be a bit of a trek especially in the miserable UK weather. My main peeve was that you had to pay for wifi access which is ridiculous in this day and age (£1/20mins, £5 for 2 days unlimited, £7.50 for 3 days unlimited).

Wombats City Hostel Munich

Munich, Germany

Good hostel with amazing staff. Location was pretty great too. Only complaint was the shower - it would randomly switch from hot to cold but it was tolerable.

JUFA Salzburg City

Salzburg, Austria

Excellent hostel. The best I've stayed at in Europe so far. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's practically a hotel. It was PERFECT:

More a camping site than an actual hostel but it is pretty clear from reviews and the description anyway. Very cheap and it took maybe an hour to get into the city which is pretty decent. Beds are thin and walls are very thin - it's more a container really but again, cheap so you get what you pay for. Showers and bathrooms are very well kept. Clean and hot showers are available. All in all, very value for money.

Hotel Adelchi

Milan, Italy

Decent hostel I suppose. Good location and cheap. It's fairly clean though security may be a tiny bit suspect. Staff are fairly helpful but overall it's really more like a place you just stays at than a place for meeting people and stuff.

Youthhostel Luzern

Lucerne, Switzerland

A bit on the expensive side, but what isn't in Switzerland? Good, clean hostel with great staff. Brilliant facilities and they provide a very good breakfast. Very good for families and big groups too.

Brilliant staff. Great place for those on a budget in Paris. Great place to meet fellow travellers and I've fully enjoyed myself here. They provide a very sumptuous breakfast (choose the Korean option!) and dinner too!
