Un lugar perfecto! This has to be one of the best hostels I have stayed at ever! The owner is lovely and really helpful, the place is spotless, the showers are amazing, the kitchen is excellent and the beds are the best I've seen since leaving Australia 5 months ago. We even had an excellent night out as a group to Andreas which the owner organised for us!

Varandas do Vidigal Hostel & Lounge

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The view is apectacular and I felt very safe here in the favela. My main problem with the hostel was that staff weren't very good at giving tips for things to do, or even just telling you how when you had decided what to do. The internet was also terrible which didn't help. Vidigal is awesome though and it's a great experience staying there. Maybe just split you stay up between places as it's ages away from most things.

I didn't really enjoy staying at this hostel. For one the toilets don't work and therefore stink out the dorm rooms, there are no lockers which is a real pain, when the hostel staff say they will put your bags in a safe place after you check out they mean they will just leave them sitting there in reception where all the doors are left open and the staff walk in and out of. The kitchen was crappy and disgusting, found a million bugs in all the cupboards. They pay for good reviews

Worst hostel! The room they gave me a key to had no spare bed. When I asked the guy working at the desk to work it out as I had booked in advance he said he would have it sorted by the time I got back from dinner. When I got back from dinner it was not sorted and the guy was drunk who was supposed to be organising it. When I asked if I could just move rooms he said no incase someone tried to book although I had already booked!!! Also kitchen closes at 8pm and all of our food was stolen.

Hotel Andre Gill

Lovely hotel with great staff members. If youre backpacking its a great place to stay to have a quiet night for some rest from hostels. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was really fresh, and its very close to the station. While it is close to Pigalle station which is the red light district it is more like a pink light district compared with other European countries and as a group of three girls in their early 20s we never felt unsafe. overall very enjoyable
