One of the best hostels I've stayed in! pro: Great central location, big lockers, comfortable rooms and beds con: Wifi on ship not working (but in reception area off the ship) Some activities e.g. a pub crawl on a Saturday night, would be helpful for single travellers

Bad experience, so I moved after 2 nights. Positive: the location! Very good!! After one year travels the by far most unacceptable beds. The slightest movement and the room is filled with a loud squeaking noise. My 6bed dorm had a matrimonial bed for a couple - they should get a double room! Only 4 lockers for 6 people. No help at reception for e.g. information about the city etc, you are directed to the travel office who desperately try to sell you a tour. The place has no atmosphere.

Dear Ullrich, Thank you very much for your comment. We apologize for the inconvenience about the squeaky beds and we are working on getting them all fixed. Sorry to hear that you couldn't get any information about the city, sure you asked. Marie at the travel desk always knows whats going on in and around the city. We looking forward to welcoming you back in Melbourne.Cheers, the Nomads Melbourne team

Very nice and relaxing place a short walk from Cable Beach. Hammocks, nice pool, good bar with happy hour, large airconditioned rooms. To get to the city for party/food etc, you'll need a taxi or your own transportation, as the shuttle bus didn't run most of the time I was there. When booked through hostelworld, I got the room for a much cheaper price than what it would've cost at the hostel. I'd definitely go there again!

Hello, thank you for your great review of our backpackers. We are sorry you found the shuttle bus not running but what we try and do is whenever we have a greyhound or airport pickup to do, we shout out that the 'bus is leaving for town' and those that want to go can get a lift. Sometimes this means we are running in and out of town 5 -6 times per day. We don't run it at any particular said time. Also, it's our fault for not telling you, but the Town Bus stop is right out the front of our property (actually on our property) and runs every hour on the hour to town and we sell discounted bus tickets from our office - so really no need for a taxi. Once again thank you for your review and we really hope to see you again sometime or some of your friends. Kind regards, Cable Beach Backpackers

pro: very helpful staff, good location, lots of organized party possibilities! good organization at reception! con: hot rooms, wifi on ground floor only, unreliable airport shuttle (was 1 hour late), you have to wear a bracelet identifying you as a backpacker everywhere in B.A.

stayed for 3 nights, and would come back even though the hostel has some drawbacks. positive: funny and very friendly staff at reception, thank you!! free good Wifi (which you need to find any information)! Comfortable beds and good showers! negative: not a single word of English spoken, but conversation works through Google translate at reception computer; overpriced, e.g. the airport transfer service: metered taxi fare is 24, the hostel charges 50.

Stayed in single room for 1 week. Nice relaxing place 10min walk out of town center. Pro: Very comfortable large rooms, regular house with 4 rooms just used as hostel. Friendly staff. Neg: Internet connection too slow to open up any web page or download emails. Very low security (house and room always open).

Quiet and comfortable hostel in San Telmo. No meeting place except a few chairs and tables in front of reception (and a 12sqm room across reception). Don't go here if you travel by yourself, you won't meet other people. The "roof top terrace" is a small terrace on the top floor with a 2m view blocking fence around... Very good wifi around reception, little breakfast. Very relaxing place!

Great fun hostel with winetasting&BBQ, amazing staff took us to a local party 1,5hours out of Montevideo on Saturday night. Rooms very small, no aircon. Very good Wifi! => definitely will come back here!! Highly recommended!!! Only neg: very strict 2pm check-in policy (even if room ready and you arrive at 1:40pm, you'll have to wait to exactly 2pm) Otherwies very great staff!

Positiv: Good common area easy to meet people, good bar with happy hour, Wifi great! => recommended!! Neg: Unflexible staff (don't adhere to 24 hour cancellation policy, e.g. can't reduce your stay from e.g. 5 to 4 days once you've checked in), rooms very small and only small lockers. No power plugs in rooms, laundry overpriced (15EUR for 1 bag, even if only 1kg)

Nice, very quiet, relaxing hostel. No party! Large common sofa area, with kitchen on the 2nd floor like a gallery. Best showers in my 9months of travels! Poor security: dorms in remote aisle behind the kitchen, bathrooms on a different floor => long way through entire hostel between dorms and bathrooms => easy for fellow traveller thieves to know you are gone and be warned before you are back (had stuff stolen in dorm while 5min in the toilet downstairs). good wifi in entire hostel!

very good Wifi everywhere! good location 10min from center. room setup with open sink area (no door!) in the room not good => you'll wake up whenever someone brushes teeth, washes hands etc, very early (9:30am!) end of breakfast and checkout, only one key per room, and you'll get whatever key you want without questions => risk. Very expensive services, e.g. small laundry 45 Arg. pesos (>10 USD)

The hostel is NOT close to Zona Rosa!! It's 8km by cab to Zona Rosa! Positive: Very friendly staff, WIFI good, close to supermarket, restaurants, Metro, nice rooftop. Not so good: No fun when I was there. Stayed for New Year's. No New Year's dinner etc in the hostel, bar closed, so went to city center to Pitstop hostel (New Year's dinner, nice pool, bar area etc) to meet others for New Year's eve. Nice if you are looking for quiet and far out from city center. Bad smell in bathroom (private room

Dear Customer, we are sorry you were dissatisfied with your experience, we think you may have been confused about some of your concerns. Firstly, The Wandering Paisa Hostel is located in the Local Zona Rosa(2km from city center), not the Tourist zona rosa of El Poblado(10km from city center). Secondly, we do not have a restaurant so we do not serve dinner any night. Our bar is open Wednesday through Sunday night and I can say I personally worked the bar on New Years Eve, which was open from 7:30pm until 1:30am. We apologize for the smell in the bathroom, we are looking into it. Sincerely, Miles Knowles, Manager, The Wandering Paisa Hostel

The hostel does not seem to be operating - it was all dark when I arrived at 6:30pm, the owner opened and was very surprised that I wanted to stay, despite me having the booking confirmation, they did not know about the booking, and did not let me in. So I had to find a different hostel. It is located in the only unsafe area of Huaraz
