Hotel Max in Mokum

Amsterdam, Netherlands
86%

Hotel Max is good value for money, considering how expensive dorm beds in Amsterdam can be. However, breakfast IS NOT included in the price as it states on their profile (unless you read the fine print - this is very misleading!) and it is also worth mentioning, you have to go to their sister hotel Iris to check in. It's only a short walk away, but with lots of luggage this was a very painful process - they should put it in their directions to go straight there.

Hostel ROOM Rotterdam

One of the cheaper options in Rotterdam, but still great quality! Friendly and helpful staff, good free breakfast, the only thing I would say is the vibe is a bit weird sometimes in the common/bar area, felt a bit like a lot of long-stayers hanging around. But still, I would revisit and highly recommend! :)

A new hostel in the centre of the Hotel Zone, super close to the beach and nightclub area. It's a new, I wish it had been open when I visited earlier in the year! Spotless bathrooms, it's lacking in a common area at the moment but the upstairs rooftop area is set to open up in the future, when it does it will be perfect! Will definitely be staying here again if I pass through Cancun next year!

A beautiful hostel style hotel, the courtyard with swimming pool and social area is like a little oasis! Everything is new and well maintained, rooms were spotless and cleaned every day. The staff including the owners and receptionist Sonja are all very friendly and helpful, Sonja gave us a great run down of Tulum on a map you can keep when we arrived to get us started. Mango is a little on the pricier side, but the quality more than makes up for the few extra dollars you spend.

A lovely hostel, staff were very helpful and accommodating, organised the Tajamulco trek and Spanish school for us within an hour of our arrival. Nice, well priced food, the free breakfast is AWESOME and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming :) Also, the best hot shower of our entire trip!

Hostel Fe

We booked 3 nights and ended up staying 8! Fe has AMAZING views and an awesome lakefront setting, you can jump right off the deck into the lake below! Between lake jumps, the dart board and the fun parties (boat party Wednesday and quiz night Friday are a must!), Fe provides hours of entertainment! The food is great and the free breakfast is the best we've experienced on this trip! Owner Mike and the staff were fun, helpful and accommodating. The best place to stay in San Pedro!

The Terrace Hostel

Has a nice rooftop area with volcano views, however our stay was ruined when our dorm room and locker was broken into and our valuables stolen! Extra security measures should be implemented, e.g. visitors to the hostel bar should be made to sign in/out, etc. At the time of the robbery, staff could definitely have been more helpful and caring, no one was particularly interested in or apologetic for our situation. However, the owner did email me later and refund our stay and offer his assistance.

Great chilled out hostel with a friendly atmosphere, Gabby who works there is amazing, so helpful and nice! The facilities could improve slightly (no lighting in bathrooms at time of visit, etc), but the atmosphere more than makes up for this. Would recommend :)

Awesome party hostel, fantastic staff, super friendly, we extended our stay 2 nights as we were having such a good time!!! 2 or so blocks from beach and main tourist strip, decent breakfast and organised activities, staff will take guests out almost every night. Would recommend to those looking to party :)

Friendly and awesome staff, downtown location is convenient to the ADO bus terminal and supermarkets, beach and nightlife an easy bus/taxi ride away. Good option for those not wanting/can't afford to stay in the hotel zone.

Miami Hostel

Miami, USA

An okay place to stay, it's not right in the heart of everything in South Beach but it's not too far away either, an easy walk. I was annoyed as when we arrived, we found the price had gone up since our initial booking due to 'new owners'? I believe they should have honoured the original booking price, however it did then include breakfast (bagel), lunch (roll) and dinner (chicken and mashed potato) both nights. Rooms were clean enough.

Samesun Venice Beach

Los Angeles, USA

A great hostel to meet people, with a good range of organised activities, pub crawls, etc. Rooms were clean although we believe one of our party fell victim to bed bugs… However would still go back (with caution) as it's an awesome social hostel and in a great location right on Venice Boardwalk.

Howard, the owner, is AMAZING! He is the sweetest, most helpful guy, goes out of his way to help you, and organises all sorts of activities like BBQs, dinners and bike rides! I would recommend this place to someone just because of him! He is currently doing renovations tso the place is a bit messy in some parts, and we think we may have been bitten by fleas in the lounge room, but it didn't really matter as Howard totally made up for that!

im not normally the type to complain about hostels when they are so cheap, but seriously, this place was pretty***! there were fleas in our beds, pretty sure the sheets were unwashed and the guy who checked us in forgot to give us our security swipe cards so we were locked outside once for half an hour!
