Really good place all around. It's lacking proper cooking facilities (though that seems to be the case in most of Japan) and its a bit quiet. But overall very charming and has everything you need. Very close to a station and a 20 minute walk to Akihabara.
It's an okay place. The showers were almost always cold. And it's got that giant, chain hostel feel. It's not one of those hostels where you get to know the staff and has that 'staying at a a mates place' atmosphere. If you like the clubbing scene you'd probably like the atmosphere I guess. The free walking tour is really good though.
Great place, great atmosphere. Theres a terrace on the roof thats great for hanging out. Lots of events that get people mingling. Great staff. All the usual facilities. Just a touch far from the centre and the beach but not too bad.
Decent enough place. Its a bit of a pain if you have to check after 11pm. Not a lot of atmosphere or anything. All the facilities you expect. All the hostels in Valencia are in the old town, so youre not going to be near the beach no matter what. Okay place but there are better in Valencia.
Ridiculously and cheap and perfect location, right near Waverly station in the heart of old town. Facilities and everything are fine.
Bit out of the way from the centre of town. It is in a nice area with shops and such, but just not very near the centre of town. Other than that it's a nice place. Just make sure they don't charge you for linen if you're staying in a 12 or 14 bed dorm as it says it's free on the website but some people got charged.
Good place all around. It's underground, so there are no windows in the rooms, which is great as that 3am sunrise is killer. All the essentials are there, good wifi, kitchen, showers, etc. Not much atmosphere and no locks on the dorms.
Very good place all around. Clean, comfortable, safe. All the usual facilities - well equipped kitchen, good wifi, laundry services etc etc. You have to pay for breakfast though. The staff are excellent and very friendly. In addition to helping you find your way around Skye and seeing the best things, they're good for a beer at the pub. Just be aware that it's in Kyleakin which is very small and not near a lot of the more popular attractions. But still well worth it with lots of nice walks.
No Wifi, which is frustrating because it's difficult to find wifi anywhere in Venice. Expect to be cut off for your entire stay. No kitchen. There's a kettle and a tap. but not even a microwave. Not enough power outlets for everybody. Actual rooms are 20 minutes from where you check in.
Everything you need, good vibe. It's not in Florence, it's a little town about 40 mins drive out from the centre of Florence, hard to find. There's a bus that takes you right near for about 3 Euro. Great way to go off the beaten path and see some of the Tuscan countryside. Cool little medieval town nearby.
Place is okay. Could use a kitchen. Not really a hostel, no atmosphere. Very near the central station, a little bit away from all the tourist attractions but still not far.
Pretty cool little place. It's a bit of a walk from Old Town unfortuantely. But friendly staff, all the facilities.
Great location and cheap. Rooms are better than most hostels. But not really a hostel. No kitchen or lounge area, no common areas at all. Absolutely no atmosphere, no way to meet people there. Good for couples, but not for line travelers.
The only showers are in the basement so have to descend 4 flights to get to them, and go through reception. Then they tell me off for walking through reception without a shirt. Pfffft.
This was my second stay here. Best location, all the usual facilities. No complaints.
This was my second stay here. Cheap, great location. Average in all other respects. Showers are pretty terrible though.
Really good place. Free dinner most nights as well as the usual free breakfast. You can borrow everything from laptops to bikes at no cost. Activities in the evening makes a good atmosphere. Really cool staff, lots of fun. Only problem was construction going on on my floor. Lots of mess and bags of rubbish everywhere, smelt pretty bad in the hallways.
Good place. Not much atmosphere down at the bar/hotel area but good up in the dining area near the kitchen. Fantastic view from the balcony. Free printer you can use is nice. Above average breakfast.
Decent place. They showed the Sound of Music in the common the night I was there. I think they do it every night, which us fitting I guess. Clean, good facilities and so forth. Have to pay for breakfast though. 3.50 for usual cereal and toast.
Good place. The only real common/hang out area is outside. But being summer that wasnt a problem. They close it off at 10pm though. Staff are friendly though they couldnt halp me with a lot of my questions. FYI- if youre coming from or going to Salzburg, take the Westbahn train, not OBB. Half the price, leaves every hour and you buy tickets on the train. This is the sort of thing the staff should know.
Place is fine. Great location. Staff aren't too knowledgeable or helpful. I asked where I could get theatre tickets and they said just explore the city centre. I later saw a sign saying the hostel sells them. There was a minor issue with my room they didn't address as well. But still clean, good facilities. Bit quiet, not a chatty or fun atmosphere.
Standard sorta hostel. Good facilities. Computers free to use is nice. The lock on my door was buggy so my card key wouldn't work. Whenever I told staff they'd say it was the card and reprogram it, I'd go back up 3 levels, didn't work, back down etc etc. After 3 days a staff member fixed it. They were nice about it, but it was annoying as hell.
Another boring chain hostel. Not much atmosphere, nothing to help people connect. Good facilities though, lots of computers free to use.
Where to begin? This is the perfect hostel (except for people that like those soulless giant chain hostels). Really feels like youre just at a mates place. Amazing staff (except they lure you into playing drinking games) if youre there for long enough you get to know them and they make you feel like part of the family, 15 mins from city centre, astonishing breakfast, cheap communal dinners, great showers, kitchen, wifi, etc. Wonderful atmosphere, cant help but make friends. Thanks guys! -Luke
Place is a bit iffy. It's out of the way (although close to a station and supermarket). Only the front door is locked (and even that's often open) so anyone can wander into the rooms. Really quiet place, bit of an odd feel. Good kitchen, tv room, showers.
Place is pretty okay. Good kitchen, 15 minute walk from Waverly station, clean. All the essentials are there. But not nearly enough bath rooms (2 or 3 for the whole place), they charge for breakfast of toast, terrible showers, some of the place is being fixed up so you're constantly blocked off from parts of the place.
Place is in a dodgy area, rooms are a joke, terrible showers, they allow smoking in the rooms so that smell is always there. Too expensive for what you get. Sometimes there is no one at the front desk, at which times they lock the front door and you can't get in. It is clean, at least. And the one staff member I ever saw was nice.
Similar to a lot of other on San fran. Decent enough.
Cool place, easy to meet people.
Boring giant chain hostel
Good all round place. Bit far away but not too bad.
Feels like a log cabin/weekend getaway kinda place. Small and quiet but pretty cool.
Terrible. While I was out they took all the stuff out of my dorm (incl cash, etc in the locker) and put it where anyone could take it because they had bed bugs and needed to gas the room. No sign on the door so I went inside the room with the gas. And none of the staff knew where my cash, passport was put. Was missing for a day. Worst hostel I've ever been to.
Decent enough. No atmosphere.
Run of the mill.
Small place, a bit quiet, but still pretty good. It's small enough that you'll have to start chatting to people
The only hostel I've ever seen that charges you to hang around the common areas after you check out while you wait for the bus. Got charged $10 and I wasn't even told about it, so when check out time elapsed and I hadn't left yet, they just charged me instantly. Hostel's need to understand that their entire business is based on accommodating people that are trying to pinch pennies. Cheating guests out of money is not a good plan, I will never go here again.
Absolutely no atmosphere at all. Dead quiet. Not really any common areas. Kudos on the VHS collection though.
Small and quiet. Triple bunks is a drawback. But nothing wrong with the place. Free clothes washing is awesome
At first glance the place seems awesome, but it has a great deal of problems. There's a pretty bad Roach infestation, the door to my room was always open, the bath rooms are filthy with clogged showers, etc etc. It's a little far from town but not too bad, not a great neighbourhood, though. It's a party hostel, though, so a lot of people and drinking and such, which is a must for a city like New Orleans. Not a bad place in all, just sub par.
Terrible music blasting way too loud all the time. But close to the beach, good facilities etc.
One of the best Hostels I've stayed in. No complaints.
A perfectly good place. Just dull. Don't go if you're travelling alone.
Very big, like a chain hostel, but also eerily quiet. Staff took some of us to thebaseball which was nice
Good quality place. Clean, good facilities etc They have good events to help you meet people. Free booze.
Three common areas for different purposes, godd facilities, good location etc
