Really good location near i-site and Cuba street. Small free small dinner in bar which is nice. Stayed in hostels all over NZ and this hostel has the squeakiest beds, horrible at night as impossible for people to get it and out of top bunk without waking whole room. Also the attached bar is very loud so ask for a room on 2nd or 3rd floor. Would stay again though.

Hi there, thanks so much for your review and I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay with us. As you might have seen from some of the other reviews we are in the process of replacing all of our old bunk beds with brand new ones so we are fixing this problem but as you can imagine it is taking a little while so I'm sorry you were in one of the older beds. I really hope you'll come back again when we have all our new comfy (and quiet!) beds. Kate, Hostel Manager.

Nicely painted rooms. Could do with more tv channels or more than the 3 or 4 DVDs as there is not a lot to do in kaikoura in evening. The shower door had a hole in it and our heater didnt work, there seemed to be no urgency to fix these things. Also none of the laundry facilties worked. However, comfy beds, nice rooms, great location and free wifi so would stay again. Just needs a bit of TLC.

Adventure Queenstown Hostel

I've stayed at 20 hostels in New Zealand and this was definitely the best. Location in heart of Queenstown but not over noisy bar street like Nomads is. Very friendly staff and guided tour when you arrive. Stayed in 6 bed dorm and family room, both very comfy. The bunks are nice wooden ones so they don't creak, each bunk has reading light and 2 plugs plus storage space. Free good wifi. Social events, loads of facilities plus free phone to call UK! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Great location for being in centre of Queenstown near everything you need. However all the girl dorms are over the street with bars in it so it's noisy at night. A shame because the 4 bed girls dorms are lovely, hotel standard bathrooms. Really nice common areas. Half hour of free wifi. The free meal is nice touch but is more snack size.

Thanks for your feedback Victoria, glad you had a good stay with us. As we are located in the centre of town there can be a bit of noise especially on the weekends however we do offer free earplugs for all guests as well as triple glazed glass windows/black out sheets. Apologies for this and I hope you had a great stay in Queenie - Cheers, Nomads Crew :)

The location is really good for centre of town, view of the sky tower as you step out the main door. Stayed in the girls sanctuary form which was nice and quiet but only two toilets for whole floor and the showers were very basic so bathroom facilities could be better. You have to pay for wifi. No security lockers. Common rooms areas are good.

Hi Victoria, thanks for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We actually have security lockers underneath each bed - ones that you can put your own padlock through (or we have padlocks for sale at reception if you need them). I hope you enjoy your travels, and we see you again at some point. Kind Regards, Amanda

Free wifi in communal areas. Nice pool that you can actually swim in unlike most hostels. Beds comfy. Needs a comfier sofa area where people can socialise other than just kitchen tables. Good location near esplanade and lagoon.

Helen at reception is amazing and very helpful. The hostel is very clean. You get a towel which is always nice. 2 Plugs each by each bed! Free wifi! Right next to shopping centre for food and cinema. Also right next to railway to kuranda. It is about 25mins to esplanade but not too bad. Would recommend.

This hostel is nice. Free wifi in communal areas is a big plus. Ben seems to be the only member of staff and works very hard, quite small communal areas. Room comfy. Short walk to the strand.

Helen at reception is excellent. Really close to shopping centre but about 20 min walk to main harbour/esplanade area, would be good if they ran a shuttle service.

Short walk to town. Good that they do a quiz every evening to get people involved. No security lockers. Friendly staff.

Deluxe room was great as has single beds not bunks and lovely shower. Does not give free lockers like the flashpackers in Noosa. Big kitchen area. Cool cinema room. Not much to do in Hervey Bay but would definitely recommend for pre/post a Fraser Island tour.

Best hostel yet... Free breakfast, good tv facilities, free wifi, free BBQ night, lockers provided in room, reading light and plug socket for each bed. Staff friendly. Regular shuttle bus to the various main points in the town.

The staff were not overly friendly and there could be more activities put on in the evenings to encourage people to socialise. However, the hostel is just across from beautiful beach and there is really nice cafe next door. The grounds are nice with hammocks, benches etc.

Close to KL sentral which is good for trains to see the various sites. The pods aren't really rooms as have big gaps around the top so can hear all the rooms. The showers are very basic but are warm. Breakfast of toast was appreciated but no milk for tea! You get what you pay for bit if have limited time in KL then this is a good base.
