Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt, Frankfurt, Germany

This is a fantastic hostel. It is probably the best hostel i have stayed in!! we took a private room. The entire place was spotless. Security was very good. There is a lovely seating area and outdoor area to relax, also pool table and t.v. The breakfast was excellent, wide range. We met many staff, all very friendly. The area outside is a bit intimidating but you are 5 mins from main station and 5 minutes from lovely areas. The price was great. I would definitely recommend it and stay again :-)

The private double room we rented was pretty compact. It could've done with at least 1 chair and a shelf or something. The shower rooms were very clean, but again no shelf to put your clothes on. Overall a very well run hostel. The luggage store facility was a god send. The staff were particularly friendly. Also as reception is always busy, it might be worth developing another system for quick exchanges e.g to get a hairdryer or use the internet. A lovely hostel

Very clean place, nice cabin. no breakfast available. Bit disappointed that we couldn't sit inside or on the deck past 11pm (as it could disturb other guests) we just wanted to sit out and relax. Our cabin had no window to look out of only a ceiling window. the bed was very comfortable though. Its only 15 mins walk to central station/centre. It was perfectly adequate just no atmosphere really. Good value for a bed in Amsterdam though.

What a fantastic little boat. Only 10 beds altogether (4 cabins). we stayed in a twin, its small as expected but absolutely spotless, it was lovely to look out the round window from the bed to see the marina and ducks in the morning. The main area is beautiful, wooden and curiosities everywhere. Breakfast was great, Large spread of meat, cheese, cereals, omelettes and more. The deck is very cosy, candles cushions, lovely. The captain Lucas was an absolute gentleman, helpful & great humoured.A+

Photos online didn't match our room. We booked a double room and got the key to a very small, quite dingy room. Scaffolding surrounded the building also. We asked to be moved and were given a better room..with a view minus the scaffolding. Location was good about 5mins from moulin rouge, 15min to montmarte. Staff were friendly, accomodating. Expensive for what it was. We asked to leave our baggage when we checked out and were directed to leave our bags in the canteen which wasn't locked.

Nice place, air-con, fridge, T.V, clean swimming pool, bar, balcony. it's a bit uphill form the centre about 10-15mins. Well worth the very reasonable price. We stayed in high season (August 2011) for 40euro a night for the room. Nice clean place.
