Maple Leaf Guesthouse

Hong Kong, Hong Kong

You get what you pay for. Tiny room with a tiny shower, decently clean and an occasional person at the front desk. You have to get through a huge floor of heckling shopkeepers though to get to the elevator (where there's usually a line).Keep an eye on your stuff getting in and out of the building, but the room is secure since you get a key to the door.

There's not really a common area where you can meet people, except for a small outside courtyard. The breakfast was great, and the rooms were clean but the bathrooms are terribly laid out and always wet for hours after someone took a shower. It's not a bad place to stay for a day or two, but the bathrooms would be annoying for anything more than that.

The staff is great and super helpful. The bathrooms are ok, but the one in room 2 (at the front with the double bed) doesn't drain properly and the shower head kept falling and hitting me in the head. Overall, loved the breakfast and the atmosphere, very friendly.
