Argyle Backpackers, Edinburgh, Scotland
9.1
26th Nov 2015

Great long weekend in the Argyle hostel. Loved the two fully stocked kitchens--it was so easy to cook and relax in the kitchen space after a day of exploring Edinburgh. Also the garden and sunroom space was great for hanging out. The front tv room also made for a great place to relax with a book and warm up after a rainy day. Rooms were warm and cozy with good locker space for valuables. Hostel was in a good location near the university and a 10-15 min walk from the heart of the city.

Silver Central Hostel, Split, Croatia
9.1
12th Jul 2015

Great stay in Silver Central. Comfortable dorms with good lockers for storing valuables. Hostel is in the heart of the old city and very convenient to almost any attraction. Nice open common room for chatting with other guests. No real kitchen though, but you are close to a lot of cheap eats right across the street. Would stay again.

Tchaikovsky Hostel, Split, Croatia
9.4
3rd Jul 2015

Great little hostel to stay in Split. Very comfortable beds with lots of storage space and large lockers that can fit a large suitcase in them to lock. Good central location next to the Old city and Diocletian Palace--easy to get to and from the bus station in 20 minutes or less. Common space was quite small -- but that seems typical of Split given the apartment style-- and dorm rooms were spacious and provided plenty of space to socialize with others still. Would stay again.

Boomerang Guesthouse, Selcuk, Turkey
10.0
14th May 2015

We had such a lovely stay at Boomerang! The guy who runs the place is so kind and friendly, and the ambiance of the cafe and courtyard are a charming place to relax. Location is excellent, 5 minutes from the bus station and close to everything in Selcuk also a nice 30 minute walk to Ephesus. Could have stayed there much longer if we didn't have to catch our bus back to Istanbul!

Excellent place to stay in Istanbul! Great location in the Sultanhamet area, and the rooftop bar/cafe has amazing views and is a great place to while away the morning or afternoon with a cup of tea. Staff are very friendly and helpful and full of tips and recommendations for the city. Would definitely stay there again.

Athens Backpackers, Athens, Greece

26th Jun 2014

Great stay at Athens Backpackers! We had a comfortable dorm room with great AC and an amazing view of the Parthenon from our window! Only downside was in the dorm room we were in--only room on the top floor beneath the rooftop deck bar--there were no lockers for locking up valuables, but i saw other dorms and all of those did have lockers so it would be nice to see that added to the top floor dorm. Other than that great stay, easy walking distance to everything in Athens and great staff!

St Christopher's Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain
9.4
8th May 2014

As always St. Christopher's is a good hostel mainstay. They have the best beds of any dorm--love the privacy curtains, and individual reading lamps and outlets with each bed. Also I love that their lockers are big enough for a full back pack/ suitcase. Loved the vibe of the Barcelona hostel--really cool artwork and outdoor space that fit in well with Barcelona's atmosphere. Great location at the top of the Las Ramblas and literally across the plaza from the buses to the airport.

Granada Inn Backpackers, Granada, Spain
9.4
6th May 2014

Great stay at Granada Inn! Friend and I rented a private suite and the amenities and room were on par with a nice budget hotel. The open courtyard layout was great for hanging out and getting to know the other guests, and the hostel runs some great walking tours and activities. Location is only about a 10 min walk from the Central Granada and near a lot of restaurants and bars. Wish we had been able to stay longer!

The MadHouse Prague, Prague, Czech Republic
9.7
29th Nov 2013

The Mad House is amazing!! There's no place better to stay in Prague. Rooms are colorful, comfy, and the whole hostel is inviting and a great place to hang out. Staff organize events every single night, and you can join in the family dinners if you don't want to venture out into Prague for a meal or need to save some cash. Be prepared to make friends with the entire hostel as it's a small guest group each night and almost everyone hangs out in the kitchen playing beer pong before heading out.

Abraham Hostel Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel
9.4
13th Nov 2013

Abraham hostel is a great place to stay during a visit to Jerusalem. In the center of the newer part of the city along the Light Rail so it's extremely easy to access almost any part of Jerusalem from Old City to the Mahane Yehuda market which is a must go. Also easy walking distance to Old City and area feels safe and has good restaurants and bars. Rooms are clean and have individual reading lights and lockers. They have great tours as well-I did the Masada Sunrise tour which was amazing.

M Montreal, Montreal, Canada

30th Aug 2013

Great place to stay in Montreal! Rooms were cleaned daily, and the mini fridges in the room were a really nice touch. The bar downstairs had good free breakfast and fun events each night. Location was right in the heart of Montreal, very close to good restaurants, bars, and Old Montreal. Easy to get to and from the airport as well. Staff were friendly and full of advice and suggestions. Definitely would stay again.

The Walrus Hostel, London, England
8.6
14th May 2013

Lovely stay at the Walrus Hostel. Stayed in 18 bed dorm, and everything was cozy and clean-if a bit worn. Bathrooms and showers were clean, and it was nice to have a room with two sinks and two showers in the dorm itself. Staff were friendly and had lots of advice and suggestions--also they had free towels, earplugs, and locks for the lockers. Great location, close to Waterloo, underground, and downtown London. Bit noisy outside at night, but nothing earplugs couldn't fix. Would stay again.

Bath YMCA, Bath, England
9.4
10th May 2013

Bath YMCA was a really good value for the money. Dorms were clean and quiet, and the location was right in the heart of Bath. Staff were helpful and nice. Only complaint would be that it would be nice to have wifi throughout the hostel, instead of just the common area; however, the common areas are large and comfy enough that going down there for internet access isn't too big of a deal. Overall, great stay, would recommend.

Central Backpackers, Oxford, England
9.4
9th May 2013

Great location in Oxford! Only took about 5 minutes to get to the heart of the town and less than 5 min to get to the train station. Staff were friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy interacting with guests. A lot of fun activities for guests-such as a Wednesday night pub crawl-and suggestions for what to do with you stay no matter the weather. Dorm rooms were cozy and comfortable, with good size storage lockers and plenty of outlets. Also there is an outdoor covered terrace which was lovely.

Shelter Jordan, Amsterdam, Netherlands
9.4
4th May 2013

Great stay! Hostel is in a great location in Jordaan, only about 5-10 minutes walking from the center of Amsterdam. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the wifi reaches throughout the hostel. Complimentary breakfast is one of the best values I had seen on my trip--real hot food like eggs and toast instead of just cereal and tea. Staff does dinner every night that guests can join in for only 5 euro. Overall comfortable and quiet, would definitely stay again.

St. Christopher's Paris is excellent. The facilities are top notch--all the beds in the dorms have individual outlets, curtains, and reading lights, and the security lockers are huge and can easily fit all of your luggage. Staff are friendly and super helpful. The bar and restaurant downstairs provide a great place to hang out and meet fellow travelers-plus there is an excellent happy hour.
