Riad Ouassaggou

Imlil, Morocco

This place is simply fantastic - beautiful views from the terrace, massive, gorgeous rooms, great food - the best breakfast we had in morocco (included in the room price). It's a short walk outside imlil but very easy to find and its good to be out of the way of all the treckers, taxis etc. Muhammed is fantastic - speaks english and french and will teach you some Berber if you ask. As close to perfect as you are likely to get.

Atlantic Hostel

Essaouira, Morocco

Hostel is full of character, with cracking staff, free mint tea, lovely communal area and rooftop terrace with great views. Breakfast is pretty cheap, and the location is great - a few seconds off one of the main streets. It has a bit of a shabby feel which only adds to its character, and it's still pretty clean regardless.

Riad Basma

Marrakech, Morocco

A lovely little Riad tucked just behind the main square in Marrakech. The location is perfect - quiet at night so you can sleep well but only 3minutes or so from the central square, souqs etc. The rooms are gorgeous and authentic, and have real character and personality. Breakfast was simple but good, staff were lovely and really helpful. If you don't know Marrakech take up their offer to meet you at the airport/main square - it's quite hard to find first time.
