This is a great hostel if you manage to check in within their very short check-in window. Reception closes at 3:30pm. This was OK - just ring the doorbell + pick up your key - but blankets are not included!!! If you arrive late you'll have no blanket for the first night, there is no way of hiring one until reception opens 7:30am next morning. This is so annoying after a long day in winter. Blankets cost way too much - $8.30. Just leave one on each bed. But it was clean + brekkie was good.

Overall this was a good hostel - the location was fantastic and it was clean and organised. But, the advertised "free wifi throughout the hostel" was a complete joke. It didn't work in the room or the common room downstairs. The mornings in the kitchen were OK, but the only reliable access was in the computer room. The "lockers" were cages under the bed and most didn't lock. The staff were nice and helpful, but not really very interested most of the time. But the place is great for the price.

This was a great hostel for the price and location in London! Just a short walk from the Underground station which connected you to everything, reliable wifi throughout the hostel (including rooms) lockers for your valuables, powerpoints and reading lights for each bed. The common area was great too, plenty of space and a good atmosphere to meet people. The staff were great aside from the girl who worked in the mornings who was slow, unhelpful + unsociable. The bathrooms and rooms were clean.

Really cute hostel, actually quite big, although it had the feel of a smaller hostel. Great showers, one of the best I've had in a hostel. It is frustrating that you can only get wifi in the reception area, even if not in the rooms, it would be nice if they could extend it to the dining room where there is plenty of space. No power outlets in rooms, but there are mirrors and extension cords in hallways to compensate. Great location, big functional kitchen. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Great little hostel, walking distance to everything, friendly and helpful staff. Kitchen and bathrooms were good, but the internet and wifi were difficult and unreliable. Other than that I would definitely recommend Hostel Elf!

The staff were great - always around, friendly and helpful. Dinner at night and going out afterwards was pretty great and was a fun way to meet or catch up with everyone in the hostel. The rooms don't lock and people from other rooms came in and out to use the bathroom, but the staff were always around so it felt pretty safe. Location was good, walking distance to everywhere. I had a great time and would definitely recommend this hostel if you want to meet interesting people and have a good time
