The hostel had a fun atmosphere, with modern decor and great helping staff. The two bedroom we stayed in had a good size, although the pillow was too soft and it lacked AC. Shower was ok, and breakfast was simple, but good (bread, cheese, cereal, cake, coffee and tea).

Better location impossible, in the middle of the city center. Breakfast was simple, but good (some types of bread, cereal, fresh fruit, coffee & tea). The employees were friendly and helpful. The hostel has a nice common room with computers, close to the bar, where everybody hangs out, making it easier to meet other travelers. Rooms were big, but with small lockers.

Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark

The hostel is very well located, in a quiet area of Leidseplen, accross a beautiful park, but still close to everything, including the most popular museums. Breakfast was good (many types of bread, cereals, fruit, juices, cheese, jams etc), the beds were confy (although rooms were tiny and the pillow was a bit thin) and the employees were nice and helpful. Food at the bar was also good & cheap for Amsterdam's standards. The place lacked character though, w/ lots of elementary school trips.

The staff is definetely the gem of the place. Our room was really spacious and the hotel offered good value for money tours. It´s also really centrally located. The major downside was lack of AC in the room, but we heard this is very common in Oaxaca. Suggestions: (1) the hotel could sell water (and maybe snacks) in the reception, so we wouldn´t have to go out all the time. (2) offering a continental breakfast in the terrace would also be nice.

Good points: unbeatable location, good free wifi, fantastic gym, cheap eateries close by, some of the staff was very friendly, specially Dorothy at reception (others were a bit grumpy). Areas for mprovements: in dire need of bathroom renovation (and adding more bathrooms as well). There´s no place to hang your clothes in bathroom, it´s always crowded and it´s not ventilated. Rooms are also a bit old, but the beds are comfy and they do the deal.

La Mansion has a lot of potential! The house itself is gorgeous w/ huge rooms! Can´t wait for the renovation to be completed to try the pool on my next trip to LA. The staff is really friendly, breakfast is good (rolls, cereals, eggs etc) & the wifi works well. Suggestions: put darker curtains in the twin room/2nd floor (it gets really light early in the morning) and hangers in the closet. It´d also be nice to block the view of the door connecting the two rooms in the 2nd floor (more privacy).

The hostel is centrally located, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful, the bunk bed room was spacious, shower had good pressure and hot water, breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty, and the wifi worked well. Cozy no frills hostel (no free breakfast, no free wifi or other perks). Staff was friendly. Needs to improve heating system, girls bathroom on second floor was a bit cold, water in the shower didn´t heat up properly, and we had to walk through the garden in the cold to get to our bathroom (we stayed in a cabin outside the main house).

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to leave these comments of which I would like to take the chance to reply. Though we do not offer free breakfast this reflects our cheaper price compared to some hostels that do. We do however offer free tea and coffee, and have a fresh herb garden brimming with free herbs for guests use. For the first time in a long time we have had a couple of issues with water temperature of which we have now resolved. You have also only given our 19th century villa (bursting with character) a 3/5 for character which we feel is unjustified. Also a 3/5 for atmosphere which we have have an award for best atmosphere. Again we appreciate your comments and will take them into account. Thanks, enjoy the rest of your time in NZ.

Basic & full of problems. We needed wifi, but it hadn´t been working for 2 weeks. Aini was very nice & took us to a wifi coffee shop & even got us coffee, so we overlooked this fault. Later on, however, we discovered the WORST bedbug infestation in our room. At first, we felt bad about leaving a negative review, since Aini claimed she had never seen such bugs before. What a surprise to read it in here that not only she knew about them for 2 weeks, but also did nothing about it. What a shame!

The hostel was close to little india and had an ok breakfast, but the staff was unorganized and a bit unfriendly (exception was a guy during last night). We scheduled an airport pickup, but no one showed up (and after we called it took more than 1 hour & a half). When we got to the hotel (passed 3pm), no one apologized for the pickup and our tiny room w/o windows wasn't ready. We then decided to upgrade the room, but the lady at the receptionist wasnt adding up our hostelworld deposit. A mess!

The hostel is new, centrally located, offering free simple breakfast, a good (but pricey for the area) restaurant and rooftop bar. If you want to party all night, this is for you. The hotel is in the middle of the old quarter, but still manages to be quiet at night. Good buffet breakfast (toast, other types of bread, cold cuts, eggs, even salad and noodles) and spacious rooms with cable flat TV, small fridge and good strong shower. Wifi worked well in every floor and you can book tours to sapa and halong bay there. The location is superb (right on a white sandy beach), the showerhead is strong, and although they dont have a restaurant, the breakfast is fresh/ delicious. Hi Leticia, thanks for your comments and feedback they are really useful. We usually wait to serve breakfast until we see guests on their balcony so as not to disturb late sleepers but we shall ask guests a time they prefer, good tip! Electricity cuts are usually early evening and less than 1 hour duration but I'm afraid were worse during your stay. This was due to work on connecting an underwater cable to mainland Tanzania which will result in stronger constant power for the island of Zanzibar. Apologies but I'm glad you still enjoyed your holiday, karibu tena!

The hotel has a good location and spacious rooms, but none of that matters when you find a mouse in the bathroom on your first night, and then, when you change rooms, get attacked by bedbugs (even found one specimen, which I brought down to the reception. The guy just said he would tell the boss on Monday, and I left the hotel early). It has been my worst experience.
