I've had to swore this place average to poor because they showed availability on hostel world and then cancelled my booking the sane day which isn't very professional or efficient. They said I'd received a refund which I didn't- not good!
This hostel is like a holiday resort and and a 1 minute walk from the beach. Beautiful! The rooms have fans but could do with more for the top bunks! Also I found the cleaning staff to be very rude and wouldn't allow you to be in the room at all whilst they were cleaning even to use the bathroom, they really need to be trained on how to handle people. Also the bathrooms should be cleaned more than once a day- 8 people sharing should be cleaned at least twice and they tend to get a bit dirty.
Beautiful hostel in the centre of Santa Marta - looks like a 5* hotel. In reality though I didn't find there to be a lot of atmosphere and the facilities weren't the best. I'd definitely recommend the dreamer over this. Even when I stored my bags there the staff didn't seem to have a clue about who's bag belonged to who or what was going on. For the price it's a pretty place to stay one night but maybe not if you're looking for any social activity.
I arrived as a single woman at 12am and my bed had bed bugs, the man on night shift was terrible and said there were no more (there was) he actually allowed me to walk around on my own at night finding a clean hostel instead of giving me the other beds- HE NEEDS TRAINING The hostel deal with them by changing bed sheets but they do to understand it needs to be fumigated. The kitchen is dirty, as is the bathroom. The manager is lovely but she needs to deal with the serious hygiene problems!!!
Loved this hostel! The owner is such a lovely person and the staff are so helpful and genuinely friendly, it's such a lovely experience staying here. It is slightly out of town but closer to the vineyards. The kitchen is good, there's lots of chill out space and you could easily stay here for days just chilling out drinking coffee - thanks so much for a lovely stay!!
Awesome hostel! Definitely one of the best we've stayed out in South America. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help you. Located in a nice part of town, right across the road from an amazing market. It does get quiet on a night when the shops close but we didn't find it unsafe at all. Clean, good kitchen, and the tours are excellent. Would definitely recommend!
Perfect place to stay if you want to get away from Mancora for a couple of nights. It's very quiet and relaxing - good for couples. Very clean and the interiors are really nice. However we weren't impressed by the breakfast, for the price I expected more than just bread, jam and butter - you can add extras but you will be charged. Also there aren't any cooking facilities in most of the rooms which wasn't made clear on hostelworld and the food available seemed expensive.
Good party hostel right on the beach. I'd recommend staying here for a couple of nights whilst in Mancora especially in low season because everywhere else in town is deserted. The hostel looks like a holiday resort and there's always something going on in the bar. Overall pretty much what you'd expect from a Loki.
We loved this place! The rooms are really good value for money especially if you're in a couple. The bar downstairs is cool and the food is really good and excellent value for money - we ate there everyday! The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The surf lessons are also good value for money, I'd really recommend doing one if you've got a few hours to kill. Would definitely recommend staying here :)
Good hostel - good value for money with a basic breakfast included. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and there's a cool rooftop area with a ping pong table and places to chill. However there aren't any lockers in the rooms and the staff are really strict on the fact that you can't take a shower after check-out unless you pay, which if you've woke up early for a hike and missed a shower and breakfast doesn't seem fair, especially when you've used the hostel to book the hike.
Really liked this hostel - clean, safe, good atmosphere and there's a nice rooftop terrace with a good bar. The hostel is only a 5 minute walk from Kennedy Square and is also on a bus route. The staff are so lovely and go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay and help you get the most out of your time in Lima, they definitely make the hostel as good as it is! Would definitely recommend :)
Really nice hostel - perfect if you're looking for somewhere peaceful where you can just chill out and watch a movie. The dorms are literally just hotel rooms with 4 beds in so you've got plenty of space. The en-suite bathroom is very clean and we found that the hot water was reasonably reliable. The kitchen area could be better though, there is a staff only kitchen downstairs which I think hostel guests should be able to use. Overall a good, clean hostel which is good value for money.
Great party hostel in the centre of La Paz. Good bar and nice food available all day. The showers and toilets are cleaned very regularly too and the place has a nice vibe. However I found a few of the bar staff to be really rude and often they were too drunk at the end of the night and start shouting at guests to leave the bar. Overall though this is a great hostel for La Paz and I'd definitely recommend it for a couple of nights.
We found this hostel to be fine for a couple of quiet nights in La Paz ahead of our Death Road trip. I'd recommend it if you want a good nights sleep(the beds are amazing) however there isn't too much else on offer. There wasn't really any atmosphere, there weren't enough power outlets in the dorms, the toilets constantly ran out of toilet paper and the hot water was pretty much non-existent. Overall not bad but there are definitely better places in La Paz for the same price.
The hostel itself was nice, clean and good value for money. The tour was fantastic! Our guides were Jorge and Gloria who were excellent! Both were knowledgeable, friendly, safe and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed the trip as much as possible. Gloria's food is also AMAZING!! Would definitely recommend! :)
Pretty average hostel. Quite clean. Staff are nice. No atmosphere.
Good hostel, fairly clean (for the desert)!) with a cool garden area with a ping pong table and hammocks! The hostel is really chilled too although I felt like there was a bit of a division between the guests and the people working there - I think the owner could probably do more to help with integration between guests and helpers. All in all though a good place to stay for a good price.
Beautiful hostel, one of the best we've stayed at on our whole trip. The owner has created a lovely welcoming and relaxing environment. Exceptionally clean and excellent facilities. Breakfast is also very good - eggs, fruit, home-made jams etc. Perfect for travellers who would like to relax and feel at home for a couple of days. Thank you so much for a lovely stay :)
Beautiful hostel in the heart of a beautiful city. The hostel is very clean (cleanest toilet and kitchen I've seen in S.A) and the kitchen is well equipped. It's excellent value for money too. The only one thing we found to be slightly annoying was the 11pm curfew, which the staff do implement strictly. I think this should be extended to at least midnight or an alternative common room area should be available. Despite this we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend :)
Excellent hostel! The staff are really friendly and helpful and they create a lovely, welcoming atmosphere for guests. Really clean, safe and all the facilities you need. Couldn't recommend this place more :)
The Ritz is ok for what you pay, very basic. There is no wifi in the bedrooms and the kitchen is absolutely tiny making it impossible for you to cook for yourself. The breakfast is very basic (croissants and bread rolls only) The staff are ok. However Juan is excellent and he'll go out of his way to help you and make your stay more pleasant. The location is also excellent, very central. Overall, good if you're looking to save money- however you could probably find better places.
This is a strange one. We enjoyed our stay at the hostel however the building infrastructure isn't to the best standard. My bed for example had nails sticking out next to it. The breakfast is ok although very basic compared to others we've had. The staff are very nice although it is clear that the hostel is just starting up so maybe there's room for improvement moving forward. Overall though a nice, cheaper alternative during your stay in Ilha Grande :)

Really nice hostel! Excellent breakfast, clean, hot showers good facilities. The owner really goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome at the hostel creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, he offers great food nights and extras that long-term travellers will appreciate.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Rio Soul. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bathrooms (ladies) were the cleanest I've seen in South America. The location is good too - right next to the metro. Breakfast is good too! The only downsides would be the bedrooms are too cramped (no space for backpacks so you have to hike over them to get to your bed) and also the kitchen facilities weren't the best- you're probably better eating out in one of the restaurants nearby.
One of the best hostels we've came across on our travels, the perfect choice when heading to Rio! The hostel is safe, clean with a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. The staff are excellent and always happy to help. Thanks for a great stay :)

Really nice hostel. Clean and good location. The only thing I would change are the washroom facilities. Personally as a girl travelling alone, I didn't like having to take a shower in a tiny room with nowhere to put your things, with a door that you can't even close and you can pretty much see through the glass. Definitely needs to be changed. Apart from that would definitely recommend it.
