The Cat's Pajamas Hostel

Berlin, Germany

Lovely hostel. It was extremely easy to get to from the airport (straight through on the bus and only a few minutes walk away from Hermannplatz U-Bahn). Getting around Berlin was no problem with public transport and there are some nice restaurants by the canal, ten minutes away. Our room was clean with plenty of luggage storage and we liked the bathroom (good shower!) even. The only problem was the roadworks outside our window - not the hostel's fault. And it was fine once we shut the window.

Planet Traveler

We really enjoyed our stay at Planet Traveler. It is a little way from the station, but it's easy enough to get to once you have figured out the tram system. You can buy a day travel card from the shop next door, which is useful. Our room was very basic, but it was clean and it was exactly what we needed for such a short stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the communal areas were lovely. I'd stay here again just for the bagels at breakfast time and the view from the rooftop deck.

Cocomama

I really enjoyed my time at Cocomama. I stayed in the water/canal room, which had two bunkbeds and an en suite bathroom, which were both very clean (although a little dark). The hostel was only twenty minutes walk from the station and well-located for trams. It was only a short walk to the Rijksmuseum, Hermitage and Rembrandt's Huis. Excellent facilities, which we did not use to their full advantage. Staff were very kind and printed out our Anne Frank tickets for us. Would definitely stay again.

Knight House

Tallinn, Estonia

We really enjoyed our stay at the Knight House hostel. It is in a wonderful location - very close to the centre of town and not a long walk to the bus station. It is also very near to the airport transfer bus stop. For our money we got free breakfast, wi-fi and a large bright room with three big comfy beds. We were right next to the bathroom, which was handy - although we still had to queue for the shower on one or two occasions. Oh well! Overall, very nice.

Pogo Hostel

Vilnius, Lithuania

Great hostel. Only twenty minutes walk away from the bus/train station and extremely well located for Old Town Vilnius - the Cathedral Square was almost right outside the door. The bedrooms were clean and spacious. We asked for the 3 bed private room and got a bunkbed each, which was a nice bonus! The only real problem was the shower, which was something of a dribble. We had read about this though and it didn't affect our stay too badly!

The Monk's Bunk Kaunas

A word of warning! If you are walking from the bus station, trying to locate your hostel and looking lost, and somebody approaches you in the vicinity of Laisvės Alėja, asking if you need any help - TAKE IT, they will probably be a member of staff from the hostel. We ended up walking in completely the wrong direction before returning shamefaced to ask for directions. Despite the initial location confusion, a lovely hostel. Would stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay at Funky Hostel very much indeed. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room (private, three beds) was spacious and clean and the hostel was very handy for exploring all areas of Riga, including the Old Town.
