Basic bunk bed place.not a hostel in sense of facilities- no kitchen, no fridge, no meeting point. You can hang out in the bar downstairs.staff very nice and friendly in bar.dorm room small, triple-decker bunks,no chair or reading ad hoc, bins never emptied, floors never cleaned/moped out in my week's stay. Bathrooms were cleaned. This place does not have a hostel vibe, many people waiting to move into long term accommodation. People coming + going all times of night, poor sleep.

Dubrovnik Old Town - Ane Rooms

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Anna was a lovely lady and made us feel very welcome to her home. Place felt very secure, location perfect, steps keep you fit, you are in the walled town! Really clean and felt you had arrived home;). It's a guesthouse so people need to mindful you can't check in at 5am, use a kitchen etc.this is a home you are entering. No wifi in house, but plenty wifi in cafes, bars etc. Twin room a bit small but sweet, double room had tv, more space. Definitely would stay again. Great place :)

Tirana, Albania

Great breakfast, downstairs lounge and garden terrace with chilled out atmosphere and very friendly staff. Decorated with old fashioned charm and communist trinkets. Staff very helpful with guests. Location is difficult to find, but very friendly Albanians guide you all the way. 6 bed dorm a bit small, air con.greatly appreciated. Upstairs toilet/shower all in one very small and cleaning was not regular enough to keep up with usage. 1st floor neglected on the cleaning front.fix blind in room/bin

Montenegro Hostel Podgorica

Podgorica, Montenegro

Lovely lady running the hostel who was so kind and helpful. She was one of the best staff people i met in 6 weeks. Location really good but hostel run down, small and one bathroom shower only in hostel. This was too much strain on hostel with people queuing and distressed by lack of toilets. The hostel lady is the best thing here.

Hostel Majdas

Mostar, Bosnia And Herzegovina

Super clean hostel and cleaning lady doing a thorough job:) lovely atmosphere, kind people, family feeling. Only concern, staff kept walking into our room without knocking, walking in opening our window during the early morning+controlling the air con. One morn, a strange man was in the room, turned out to be staff. This is the only issue here. Bada's tour was mind blowing, he put so much energy and passion into tour, this is a MUST TOUR MOSTAR! Don't miss out. Awful soft spot for him :) xxx

Sweet & Cheap

Split, Croatia

A lovely clean homely hostel with very nice touches, kettle and biscuits to welcome you!nice decore with themed rooms and lovely spacious bathroom.Air conditioning appreciated and shutters.Staff very helpful who seemed to have all your needs anticipated.Good info poster displayed+magazines etc.felt like someone's apartment vrs hostel. Hot rings for pot cooking rather than a kitchen set up. Great location. Only pointer: washing clothes over priced, €7 wash+ €7 dry. Too expensive!! Great hostel:)

The Wallaby House Hostel

Zagreb, Croatia

Lovely open plan hostel with a lovely atmosphere, calm and low key. Nice beds, lockers and light breakfast.staff very helpful and pleasant to deal with and a lovely dog to add to the relaxed atmosphere.first place we experienced air conditioning which was a joy, good sleep and everyone respectful of quiet time. The house hostel is doing a great job, felt very welcome.good showers and nice kitchen too. Only pointer would be the WIFI not consistently working, poor connection but laptop was usable)

Bled Hostel

Bled, Slovenia

Justin and Andres were really helpful and gave us great information and helped us organise train tickets last minute,5 star help x. 4 bed dorm was a bit cramped, smallest 4 bed dorm we have been in. My top bunk bed was broken, the timbers underneath moved all over the place. Nice bathroom and kind left luggage offer. 'a one off party' kicked off till 5am so did not sleep here. Staff tried to reign it in but had a feat on their hands as other hostel above partied as well! !Taxi to train rip off!

Youth Hostel Innsbruck

Innsbruck, Austria

Lost to the 1970's this hostel is not realistic today.I stayed here 12 years ago, nothing improved, not even the sun faded pictures from 1976. A soulless place, outside building looks appalling, inside no character or atmosphere. Staff reluctant to give you your own key if you are more than one person. MUST PAY FOR WIFI €3.00/day. VERY POOR. Kitchen MUST PAY FOR ELECTRICITY/COOKER USE. SHOCKING YHA.As a YHA member, disgusted.Only reason this place has survived= no competition.NO LOVE/improvment

Late check in at 3pm is not realistic for a hostel. We arrived after a night train and had to wait till 2.30pm to get into our dorm, 7 hours later! The cleaning of dorm was not up to scratch, no floors washed/cleaned. No air conditioning and kitchen was smelly and should not be included as a facility. Despite that, staff were very helpful, good English spoken, good breakfast for €5.90 and downstairs lounge nice.good security swipe card. People checking in at 3am in the night/dorm not appreciated.

Hi :) Thanks for rating us! We're truly sorry that you had to wait so long. :( Unfortunately, our check in time is at 3pm. Our cleaning ladies are fast and they do their best, but it takes a time ! If the room is clean a little bit earlier, we always allow our guests to move into the room. We hope you liked Vienna! Kind regards Your M-Team

Greg & Tom Hostel

Krakow, Poland

Fantastic staff,Sara made our stay so cosy and comfortable, her cooked dinners were for best staff in hostels=Sara!great atmosphere with free breakfast+dinner.nightlife or cosy cinema night in all encouraged.lovely chill out room.our room was on 4th floor, only 1 shower for 12 people, a bit over stretched.clean, tidy room with lockers.a FAN would have been a relief with 36 degree heat.reception a bit small for the hustle and bustle,4th floor was a quieter space.good colour keysystem

Thank you for such a lovely review! That's great that you liked your stay here. If the bathroom is occupied, you can always come to the reception floor and we can give you the access to bathrooms located on other floor. That's right, it was really hot last week in Krakow, which is quite unusual but now the temperature got back to normal :) We'll be happy to host you again in Greg&Tom!

Retro Hostel

Poznan, Poland

This is a beautifully decorated hostel with a lovely bright kitchen and retro design. Staff were very helpful and kind. Why a low score? The hostel is so near the square and nightclub across the road that it is impossible to get sleep. People outside on the streets shouting and screaming till 6am. Inside the hostel a group stayed in and partied all night long, shouting, screaming, banging doors (walls are cardboard thin). Staff were not able to 'manage' the out of control party.such a pity.;(

Gdansk, Poland

Hostel young man was extremely helpful and offered to wash/dry our washing while we slept after a long bus journey. Nice clean bunk room with reading lights, lockers and space. Clean freshly tiled bathroom/shower and clean kitchen. Breakfast:fresh rolls, tomatoes, cheese, spreads,cereal,tea/coffee. Quiet vibe to the hostel, restful and right on the edge of old town. Walkable from train station and centre of Gdansk. Owner watering plants with children, sense of pride and care.Great hostel :)

Vilnius Old Town Hostel

Vilnius, Lithuania

Very helpful, kind and friendly staff.there are 2 hostels that say YHA, other is Fortuna hostel, nearby.Old Town is old eastern European style, while Fortuna is modern, bright, games rooms etc.this is the 'real' YHA hostel. Old Town is not YHA standard.Regardless, the twin room ensuite/kitchenette was spacious, a bit damp but slept well there.Saw the dorms, cramped looking bunk room. Get the 'mini' apartment twin room or go to Fortuna hostel for other.great location, good 12 noon check out time.

Seagulls Garret Hostel

Riga, Latvia

New, clean, beautifully decorated hostel:tasteful kitchen, lounge room with ice hockey game, computers and sofas.8 bed dorm room had a semi partion, felt like a 4 dorm. Key card access very modern, but meant the doors banged very loudy or closed very loudy(had to bang it to ensure it closed). other doors banged as people tried to close them in the corridors. The 8 bed dorm faces out onto a busy street which is noisy, construction and people.earplugs needed !! Travellers arriving at1/2am=bad sleep:(

Old Town Alur Hostel

Tallinn, Estonia

We booked the private twin room to have a good sleep but were kept awake by a party on both sides of bedroom.Very noisy, banging on our door and walls.other night people checked in with crying children at 12.30am. Noisy, night 2 of no sleep.showers dirty, overflowing water, bins not emptied in toilet.Seems to be a hostel stag party venue,if that's what you are looking for. Australian staff laid back in cellar of building 'not aware'of what goes on upstairs despite being helpful when asked for info

excellent hostel, great location and very clean, a boutique hostel I would call it! WIFI only in the common room was the only drawback ie. could not use equipment in bedrooms. Nice touches with soft lighting, cage lockers under beds and pull around curtains making a 6/8 dorm very private. Our dorm room was facing onto the main road, nosiy so ask for rooms in the back or bring your earplugs ;) I would stay again/

The Meeting Place

Taipei, Taiwan

Dave and Thomas went out of their way to help me see Taipei in 1 day, thanks to them I saw so much and so quickly. They were both really hospital and welcoming to guests at the hostel. Hostel facilites are excellent, "cinema" room is high tech. Internet was free ) Dorm room din't have a window, a little stuffy at times due to aircon restrictions. Great hostel, highly recommend, would stay again, directions are detailed and accurate. Curfew needs to be applied for lights out.9/10.
