Misty Valley

Montego Bay, Jamaica
89%

We had a lovely stay at Misty Valley. It is a bit out of Montego Bay in a quiet, beautiful area. Siobhan and Ugo are both lovely and were super helpful driving us around and picking us up. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for somewhere quiet and away from the town, but probably not the best place if you are looking to party. There isn't much to eat nearby, but there is the option to buy food. It would be amazing if they had a kitchen available to guests here. Decent wifi.

Nice hostel a few minutes away from the main square. Rosa and Vily and the rest of the family are all very hospitable and lovely. Nice pool and kitchen, and good facilities! Wifi was really good, and we had a nice cozy stay there. I would definitely recommend this hostel for anyone looking for a quiet stay in Iquitos.

Pretty decent place to stay in Huacachina, since there aren't many options. Nice restaurant, friendly staff, fun tour! The only downside is that food is expensive in Huacachina and there isn't any kitchen or anything. Either way, I would recommend it for a night or 2.

This hostel was okay for the price. They offer decent tours and sell bus tickets, which is really convenient. The wifi was really good upstairs by the computers. The rooms are freezing though and our bathroom didn't have a door. The kitchen was fairly dirty most of the time.

Great hostel with a nice breakfast, good location, nice rooms, friendly staff and a helpful travel desk. It is more like a hotel than a hostel so a bit expensive and not a great atmosphere, but worth the stay If you want to relax in La Paz.

Great hostel, near to the bus station and only a 5 minute walk to the Main Street. Wifi was spotty, but that seems to be the whole of San Pedro. We booked some great tours here, although we did end up with a different company for the salt flats than we were told. It worked out fine though, and would stay here again.

Nice little hostel a few blocks from the Main Street and square. The owner is really nice, and the kitchen is small but clean. The hostel was pretty quiet while we were there, so maybe not the best for a solo traveler looking to meet people.

Great hostel with super nice staff and good location. The main area was great for socializing and meeting people. My only complaint would be that the wifi wasn't very good, and the kitchen was a bit small. Nevertheless I would stay there again!

Che Lagarto Hostel Colonia

Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay
77%

The front 2 rooms are before the reception desk and the front door is always left open, so they didn't seem overly safe. The breakfast was pretty poor, and the kitchen was small, but the wifi was pretty good and the people were nice. It would have been nice to have someone cleaning in the hostel more frequently, as the kitchen was quite dirty and so were the bathrooms. Because it's a chain, it doesn't feel like anyone really cares about the hostel. If you're in Colonia briefly, it's decent.

Montevideo, Uruguay

Destino26 is located in a cute house near Pocitos beach. It is a bit far from the old city, but you can easily take a bus there. The kitchen and wifi were great, and the owner was very nice. There were 2 children staying there with their mothers, which made the atmoshepere in the hostel quite different from other hostels I've stayed at. I think that children should be in a private room if staying in a hostel because having a child in the room is awkward. Other than that, we had a great stay.

Barra Beach Club Oceanfront Hostel

Florianopolis, Brazil

This is a great hostel in Barra. It's close to both beaches in the area, and has really good rentals for equipment. The atmosphere is good with a free caiprinha and optional group dinners that are delicious. My only complaint is that the wifi is pretty poor. It only works in one area of the hostel and it becomes pretty slow because everyone is crowded in that area.

Miguel and his wife and adorable son are all very lovely. The rooms are a good size, located on the second level of his house. Hostal Yakumama

Cuenca, Ecuador

This hostel is a nice, pleasant place to stay in Cuenca. The beds are massive, and there are lockable boxes in the rooms. There is a massive courtyard with hammocks, as well as a bar to hang out in. My only complaint is that they close the reception on Sunday's. Being that we spent a full day there on Sunday, this was a hassle, as there was no one to help us out and just the night security who was constantly letting us in and out.

Hello thanks, during that week the company had a major failure that didnt let us have wifi connection in the whole area, the problem has been fixed though, sadly cases like this are not up to us, and of course we do care, we have internet acces also if it was an emergency, we have 8 showers and 5 toilets available, you just have to walk a little bit if the one next door is taken.

We got put in the dorm right beside the bar, and techno music was blasting for hours. This place has a great vibe and a cool courtyard, but it is definitely not the place to stay if you are looking to relax and get some rest.
