The College Lawn Hotel

HELL ON EARTH....DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOSTEL! It's disgusting and as soon as I walked in its like being in what i imagine a crack den would be like, I would have felt safer and cleaner sleeping on the street. Seriously depressing way to start our stay in Melbourne and its a same because the surrounding area seemed very upmarket. This hostel however was a million years away from that!

Really nice place and atmosphere, more like a flat than a hostel. Modern, clean and quirky . Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Only stayed one night but easy would have stayed longer, seemed fun place to be

The Old Mount Gambier Gaol

We were more than impressed by The Old Mount Gambier Gaol. Firstly the building is stunning and very quirky how it has maintained original features despite having a modern and new feel to it. Defiantely felt like a upmarket hostel and was great value. Lovely rooms and facilities, comfy beds and owners were extremely nice and told us the of the building and their renovations. It was a perfect start to our Great Ocean Road adventure and in fact we both said we would have loved to stay for longer.

We were in the 'Cave' which couldn't be more fitting, too many people and not a lot of light. Overall OK but kitchen closing at 9.30 was too early. Cleanliness good but staff spent up to 3hours cleaning bathrooms in the morning whenever everyone needed them. Staff seriously need to learn how to smile and generally seemed to have a severe attitude problem. However BBQ on Wed was fab and Toms pool game was first time all occupants participated in something, should do more nights like this!

Hostel was great fun, lots of activities organized for guests, bedrooms were nice and en suite bathroom was very good, plus we had access to two other bathrooms. Roof top terrace was amazing to spend lazy days listening to good music, lying in the sun or dipping in the pool. Pub crawl was great fun. Staff were very helpful and friendly, access to free wifi was great and free breakfasts were fantastic. All in all a very enjoyable holiday and the hostel really added to the experience.

Sleep and Travel Rooms

B&B Malaga was in perfect location beside the bus/train station and within very accessible reach of both the airport/city centre. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, they included a brief description of Malaga displaying on a map how to go about seeing the sights, very useful indeed as we were only there for two days. Room was beautiful, very modern. Only slight problem with hot water but really not a big deal as bathroom was beautiful and it just involved waiting a few minutes adjusting.
