European Guesthouse

Value for money guesthouse. Stayed in the private twin room with en-suite facilities and it was very clean. Liked that the room had both A/C and a fan. Great that the guesthouse always has tuk-tuks waiting outside so no problems getting a ride out. Staff were helpful and they have quite a good breakfast menu. Staying with European Guesthouse also meant that we got a 10% discount off Lemongrass Garden Spa which was much appreciated :o)

Indigo on Otres

Pros: Excellent location. Just a few steps away from the sea. Quiet stretch of Otres, if you're looking for somewhere with more night life you're better off walking further down the beach. Really chill. Cons: Bathrooms were poorly maintained (other hostels on Otres had much cleaner bathrooms.) Hut had one ceiling fan, but with the mosquito net over the bed we could hardly feel any breeze. Even with the window open the hut can get very warm at night. Furnishings in the hut are worn out.

The showers were very poor. There are no showers on each floor; all the showers are grouped together in the basement. It was a poorly ventilated, dirty place with cubicles separated by shower curtains. The shower jets are very strong are you can't control the temperature. No where to put your toiletries but on the dirty, hairy floor. Piping was gross, while I changed (with difficulty, cause there weren't enough hooks) water dripped from the rusty piping above. I do not recommend.

Thank you for your review, We have placed the showers together at one place for two main reasons, the first reason is to save energy by having one big boiler for these showers instead of small boilers on every floor. The second main reason is to ensure that there will always be a shower available for our guests to use unlike other hostels where guests have to walk around the hostel from one floor to another trying to find an empty shower. The hostel is still very new so a lot of things haven't been sorted out yet. Cleaners coming in before you check out. Painters painting the wall right outside your dorm. Showers had no shower curtains. It's a very big hostel and at night the bar is very loud so if you're looking to have an early rest you should look somewhere else. No A/C and windows open a small amount so it's just as stuffy as the one at Crimee. Staff were confused. Great location!

Hostel resembles a business center. No A/C but they are nice to provide a fan. It's the nearest hostel to the railway station but it's still a 15min walk away.

Location is out of the main districts of paris but still nice; every evening both sides of the canal outside the hostel would fill up with people just chilling out or having a picnic. The underbid locker is very creaky. My biggest problem was that the rooms weren't air conditioned and the windows were built to open just a little bit-- lots of mozzies in and around the hostel. Leave it open and you will get bitten for sure. Leave it closed and the room becomes stuffy.

Hi, Thank so much for taking the time to get back to us. We're always looking for ways to improve the experience we provide for our guests and which is why your feedback is so important to us. We want to apologize to you for the AC issue which was due mainly to a technical problem which made it blow hot air instead of cold and was fixed as soon as we discovered it. We really want to be the best hostel we can be and are always looking to improve. Best regards,

A hostel I'd recommend if you're going to stay in Huangshan. Although it's not near to Mount Huangshan but the staff is helpful and speak basic English, they can organize buses for you to where you want to go (Mount Huangshan, nearby cities eg. Hangzhou, Shanghai) and the shuttles come to pick you up direct from the hostel. Located on a street with lots to see and eat. Very pretty at night. Rooms are spacious and there is a bar, and entertainment area downstairs. Very convenient!
