Cute concept and right on the beach so quite nice during summer. Nice spacious and hot shower despite being on a train...the taps are a bit difficult to use though. It's definitely a novelty accommodation. Don't expect to sleep past 7am though as there are no sound barriers, especially when you have inconsiderate neighbours and cleaning ladies. Also, no heating during winter and I'm guessing no AC during summer. Nice personnel. Would be nice if there was a common room with sofas and a TV.

Nice place...very big. We got a private room with ensuite and it was comfy. Nice Common area with TV, sofa and tables and you can get a good valued meal there as well. The girls at the desk are pretty nice although the guy at the bar can be pretty obnoxious. Oudtshoorn is definitely a place that's better with a car as those without it have to stick with the tours offered by the hostel, at a price...

Such a nice and helpful family with a nice place. Felt like I was staying at a family's house with the nice common area and everything. They put the braai on sometimes and said they'd gladly cook it for us too if we buy the groceries. Really well located. Only complaint is that it's quite noisy in the morning (ear plugs a must) and there was a shady guy smoking in the common toilet with the door unlocked one night.

We only arrived late at night, slept over and then left early the next morning so don't know....we asked for a private room and it was very barren. Kinda felt like being in a prison room. The toilet and shower were located outside, which makes it quite chilly in the winter. Had a group of very unfriendly locals sitting in the TV room and who hogged the toilet in the morning one after the other. Dunno if they work there.
