Travel Joy Hostels Chelsea

London, England

Not enough lockers in the group rooms. As well, the overall building was a bit dingy and could use a thorough cleaning. The staff were friendly and helpful and the drink prices were very reasonable - especially for London

Hotel Le Rocroy

Paris, France

Overall, great facility and pleasant staff. Breakfast was just o.k -- nothing spectacular. The best feature of this hotel was the location. The central location saves a lot of time in trying to get to all the main sites; it is centered between Montmartre and the main tourist sites like the Louvre, etc. Washroom was clean and modern -- a nice feature. Would've liked to have seen a bar or more usable central lounge in the hotel, but still few complaints :)

I was extremely pleased with St. Christophers in Paris. The bar area downstairs was large, with lots of areas to sit and relax, and the water-front seating was very pleasant. The staff at the hostel were genuine and hard-working and the facilities were very clean. The bathrooms on the 5th floor were a bit less impressive than the rest of the hostel, but were certainly not terrible by any standards.

St Christopher's at The Winston

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Overall, a fantastic hostel. Stayed in the private room and was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room. Wondered if it was necessary to decorate the room in such a fashion though (i.e. metallic paint?). The bar is a great meeting room and hostel guests get 25% off food. Breakfast was surprisingly good by hostel standards. A bit loud at night, but that's the price of the central location.

Kinlay House Cork

Cork, Ireland

Generally pleased with the facilities - stayed in a private double room which was quite clean, especially the bathroom. Furniture and carpets a bit old and dingy, but nothing terrible. Had a very difficult time finding the hostel when arriving by car - perhaps revamp the directions on the hostelworld website to help guests.

Only good things about the hostel was the security and the price -- rest was terrible! Incredibly incompetent staff who seem to do their best to avoid having to deal with customer requests or complaints. TWICE in the same night I returned to my room to find a different person sleeping in my bed who the staff put there. When I went to request a new bed, they begrudgingly strolled around the hostel looking at beds with messy sheets trying to determine "if anyone had been there in a while".

Relatively clean hostel with lots of young people. Breakfast was the same everyday which got a bit tiresome, but couldn't complain at that price! Bar staff were extremely rude when attempted to get a drink at the end of the night. Hostel is only a few stops from the main city-center and only a 10 minute walk to the subway.
