The surroundings are beautiful, but a little bit far from the center and even a place to eat. It's a 6 minute walk to the beach and they have a pool nearby (don't pay if anyone asks you to, just walk away). The owner is very nice, the guy that was there literally 24 hours everyday during our stay was friendly but a little lethargic. B
We personally didn't like the hostel. There was no blatant discomfort or special reason, it was a mixture of the complete lack of atmosphere, the very incompetent night worker, the smell is not good in our room, the lack of any kind of view from the windows that made us cancel our initial booking and move to another place.

The staff is extremely competent and helpful. The atmosphere and the facilities are excellent. The location itself is good, but nothing special. Compared to other hostels, the surroundings are average.
Loved our stay there. Definitely one of the best hostels in town, together with Wada. We got upgraded, the room was a delight, the location is ideal and the atmosphere and amenities are superb. The only contra is that the staff blatantly lied to us about the availability of river cruises without an (expensive) booking with them to sell their product. I understand that they want to make money but lying is completely unacceptable. Even in high season on a weekend you'll get a raft easily.
Nice little place, but please don't expect anything too fancy. Maybe we are spoiled by the really perfect hostels we stayed at in other places, but in comparison this place is shabby and old. They have a neat little bar there and even let us play some music. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.
Awesome place. Stayed in a private room, there was really nothing to complain about. They have an awesome Bar/Restaurant and the (very nice!!!!) beach is directly across the street, there are also a few cool beach bars. Nice breakfast. Very very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing that might be slightly imperfect is that it's located about 15 minutes away from the actual city centre. That's no problem at all though, we _always_ managed to stop cars (at day and nighttime likewise).
