Big clean rooms, not the friendliest welcome but good wifi. Night club kept us awake until 430am for four nights and double bed was tiny. We both woke up with sore backs and we can usually sleep anywhere and through anything!

By far the worst hostel we have stayed in (out of 26). When we asked for a fan we were told no because we were lucky to have a window. About 35*C at night. Very noisy - all sound echoed up central channel in building. Staff never there - we waited an hour to get inside when we arrived with no apology even though we emailed to confirm time.Missed dinner plans. 'Back in 20 minutes' was regularly found on the door. Very basic - We would pay NOT to stay here.

Loved our stay here - most staff were very friendly! Perfect! Internet wasn't working for the staff (always worked for guests!) when we checked in so we were unable to pay but when leaving it was early and the reception was not open. Received a rude email from Karin suggesting that we had snuck out without paying, which was entirely untrue as we had had long conversations with the staff for the 4 days that we were there and not one of them followed up on our payment even tough we suggested it.

Confortável stay but no reception at all - you have to call (very expensive from an overseas phone) to get them to come and let you in when you arrive. The rooms are great but don't expect common areas or social using opportunities. It is more like a hotel. 10-15 min walk to train station but close to restaurants.

Awesome hostel!! The breakfasts are amazing, fabrizio is awesome and makes it feel like a home! Rooms are big and look right out into the beautiful city - be ready for some stairs but you will need them after the yummy food in the city! Very sad to leave this place!

The showers were cold and barely worked, staff more interested in playing world of Warcraft than helping you - no maps or directions of the city provided, building very run down lots of long black hair in showers and sinks - we were glad to get out of there.

Indeed we don`t have maps included in the price. But we have a computer with printer connected to internet and free to use in the common area. A google maps search and a print would solve this problem. Also in the reception you can find lots of helpful information. As mentioned on your check-in one of the showers works with solar energy: in the mornings and nights the water is not very hot. But the other electric system showers offers 24 hours hot water.

We had the double private room and obviously paid quite a bit more for it. The room was tiny and there was graffiti and pretty vile posters all over the walls with graffiti, etc. The bathroom light wasn't working and it was the size of a broom cupboard with water pressure that was so weak it almost wasn't worth using. The location is fantastic but the whole hostel stinks like pot but perhaps this is normal in Amsterdam. The staff were pretty blunt and rude at reception, but the bar staff great.

Very clean, but quite far from the centre of Paris. Some staff were great, but it took us over 2 hours to check in because the computer system was 'slow'. Apparently this happened a lot. Very expensive to buy food and drinks from the hostel, so I would recommend going to the main street nearby and stopping at a French cafe.

St Christopher's Oasis

Really great hostel, we stayed in the all girls part so we had to walk about 2 blocks to check in and out and also to have breakfast. It wasn't too much of an inconvenience, but sometimes was very very cold haha. Staff were great and friendly and we could get around very easily. I would recommend staying closer to Oxford street, etc. if you want more of a party vibe.

Hey there, Thanks for your review and your nice feedback especially on our great staff. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Oasis. We think that our quiet Oasis has a great location for parties, especially since the famous Ministry of Sound club, where you also get discounts, is only a short walk down the street. Perfect to party hard and sleep easy. We wish you all the best in future travels and hope to see you back soon. Thanks, St. Christopher's Team.

We had a great stay, reception was very helpful, beds very comfortable - enough night life but quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. I would recommend staying at this hostel.

Not impressed. Beds like concrete - no extra pillows/blankets. Got NO sleep after a 24 hour flight as couches were located outside our window where the staff had joined the party-ers and continued to scream and squeal until about 4:30 in the morning (both nights), ignoring 12am curfew and repeated requests for quiet. Breakfast was good. Anyone was let in and allowed to sleep in courtyard even if they weren't guests - no security.

Hi there and thank you for your review. We do keep an ear out for loud noise during the night. I have asked my staff to see if any of them had stayed over during your night, but they hadn't. I really do think people should have respected your requests for quiet, and would definitely have taken action, had I heard the noise myself, but I hadn't heard it (I sleep about 8 meters from that couch). Please do not hesitate to knock on my door with complaints at any hour, as per instruction during check-in. Nobody is let in that is no guest at the hostel, but guest are allowed to sleep in the courtyard if they so chose. Cheers and I hope you enjoy Brazil!
