very small and homey but it's a little strange they don't allow you to keep your belongings in your room with you :-S however at least you don't get woken up then by people russling carrier bags ;) more signage would be helpful as can easily walk past the road and the building
pricey but I guess it is NYC ;)
free breakfast was excellent as were the individual beds rather than bunks
exceptionally clean, excellent security, selection of organised activities nights and days-some FREE :) and cheap organised meals :) FREE breakfast is a good variety and choice-sets you up for the day :) staff very helpful people :) stayed there twice this year and in 2008 and would definitely stay there again :) just be aware it's between 2 metro stations if you have a lot of stuff it can be a difficult walk and compared to other hostels in the area it is pricey but worth it :) xx
the directions were incorrect and the guy on the front desk was absolutely useless and knowledge less :( BUT the hostel is super cheap and very clean and great place to meet people, FREE pancake breakfast and all other staff I met were lovely :) activities offered and affordable :) shame really it's quite far down the Strip for but you can expect that for the price you pay :) 1st night I had a private room because it was so cheap - basically a 6 bed dorm to myself :) awesome! xx
free breakfast is epic-best there is! and location is not too bad-fantastic for area but between 2 metro stations so can be annoying if you have lots of stuff! security is amazing no concerns what so ever and the free bus to the beach was great too :) find it a little expensive for a hostel but you get what you pay for and it makes up for the price with the activities, peace of mind security and small dorms of 6 people with en suite bathroom. Very helpful people on the main desk too :) thanks!
even though the main gate has a lock, found it open all too often and it was worrying as the stairs to the dorms are between that and the main reception staff didn't seem that knowledgeable about activities/things to do in Hawaii except the trips the hostel offered but were quite helpful when telling me which buses to get to places such as the mall, lack of brochures/info on trips/things to do :( awesome to have free breakfast but a shame it's the same cereal bar every day and eggs rarely :(

very convenient location, right by Metro stop on Hollywood Blvd and very close to all the tourist things like Hard Rock Cafe, the Kodak Theatre, Walk of Fame, mall where you can see the Hollywood Sign from etc! Very cheap-you get what you pay for! so probs why it was definitely not the cleanest-the carpet of the room needed a good hovering but the bathroom was cleaned daily (but tended to get messy). Mostly helpful staff. Hostel door is not locked and people coming in and out aren't checked.
stayed for 6nights awesome location few minutes walk from Waterfront skytrain and seabus. if you like to sleep perhaps request the 2nd floor as it can be a bit noisy with the pub on the ground floor! very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast in the cafe right next door, very clean bedrooms and bathrooms. limited kitchen space with not much fridge room but tended to eat outside the hostel anyways. the only other minor gripe was the lack of plugs in our room. but they fixed the squeeky door yey!
