Really cheap hostel in a great location, only criticism is that there is no kitchen. All else was great, very happy! Be mindful this is not a smoking or party hostel :)

Great hostel! Loved it! Could be a bit warmer in the common area and the wifi was a bit dodgy but thats my only complaint!

As always this hostel is amazing... Great staff, great breakfast, good kitchen facilities, a smoking room... My only complaint is the showers can be temperamental when it comes to temperature and there could be a night light in the bedroom (or individual lights) to avoid crashes with furniture in the middle of the night... I always recommend this hostel to people visiting Amsterdam :)

We paid to stay in a room with a shared bathroom. We received a room with its own bathroom, however it was a little down the hall. This bathroom had absolutely no heating, in February! It was under 10 degrees at the time! The window didn't even close properly! The staff did let us use another bathroom but only after I had suggested it. The television was great there though. Fairly good location. No kitchen.

We were told by a sign when we found the hotel that we should report to another one to check in. We chose to upgrade to a room with ensuite. This room's shower was horrible! It was supposed to be new but the shower head leaked cold water onto you while you showered! On top of that the bed, which was supposed to be a double, was definitely MUCH SMALLER than a double. The location was excellent however, it was enough for a night or two.

This hostel was great! Found it at the last minute. We arrived at 12 or 1 am, but this was not a problem for the reception staff. We were in a separate location, but it still had a kitchen (albeit this was an outdoor kitchen - think of bbq facilties and plastic screening) but we were told we could cook in the main hostel as well. Free breakfast. Great reception staff - loved having a chat with them!

Great location. Quite good rooms. Staff were a bit rude however, often talked about personal matters (surgery etc) in front of us as if we weren't there. The kitchen, tv room and computers aren't allowed to be used past 11pm or 12am. So if you come back from a big night out and expect to access your own food, you will be disappointed.

Great little hostel! Decor and room size were amazing! Free breakfast was just a roll though. Kitchen is good to cook in and the internet/ tv area was homey. Bathrooms are set up a bit strange - shared bathroom so anyone can open the door whilst you're coming out of the shower. It was a bit cold, there was heating in the room, but hardly anywhere else. It was still 15 degrees outside!

Great place to stop for a night or two if you just want a bed, bit of privacy and an ensuite.... although the shower was not good and the ensuite walls were open at the top so you could hear everything going on.

Great bar and location! The chill out area was also great... security was a bit iffy because people could come in off the street to the bar, and chill out zones... our ensuite in our dorm constantly smelt like mould and pee... so couldve been cleaned a bit better... I also got some strange insect bites when staying there...

Baxpax Mitte Hostel

Berlin, Germany

The staff at Baxpax werent very helpful when it came to local knowledge, they werent very informed. The kitchen is small for the amount of people wanting to cook there and there are only two womens toilets, two showers and two sinks to accomodate a whole floor of people. However, the artworks on the walls and the location is quite good and everything is very clean!

DONT USE THEIR WASHING MACHINE!!! Our washing turned out still dirty and wet after over 3 hours of washing!! The staff were really nice and helpful and the rooms were clean (although there was a bowl of soup in our room for the two nights we were there!)

This hostel was quite disappointing... the staff were not very friendly most of the time... the shower was freezing!! And the apartment we were in only got cleaned once for the four nights we were there including the showers and the bins in the kitchen and toilet....which were overflowing by that time... and we had only one key between two of us which was needed to double lock and unlock each door to get in and out...

We booked a twin bed private with shared bathroom, however the apartment we got taken to didnt have central heating (or at least it wasnt on) and the lights and electricity cut out... so we got upgraded to a private studio with kitchenette and bathroom... which was very nice! The common area is a nice place to chill out and cook however we only got one set of keys between the two of us which was kind of annoying...

Very clean nice hostel, the key cards which opened the lockers were excellent!! The free use of computers were a bonus as were the partitions in the dorms so that not everyone could look at you when you slept... but the beds were SUPER creaky which made it very hard to sleep at night and the showers werent the best... other than that we had a very nice stay!

Loved the bar and restaurant - get the mussels!! The room we stayed in was great, a 5 bed dorm and no bunks in a big room... all with lockers and a sink in there too... the only complaint we had was for the two nights we stayed there the toilet on our floor didnt have a light in it so we had to go to another floor... (and the toilets were all a bit smelly)

Good location next to the train station!! We stayed in a twin private shared bathroom which was in a very very small room but good enough if youre out all day. The breakfast, although free, wasnt very nice, sometimes it wasnt cooked long enough. But all in all enjoyed our stay well enough.

Great location and a great hostel! Everything was clean and tidy and the bar was sooo cheap!! Corridor outside the rooms could do with a carpet or something for soundproofing.. but I couldnt expect anything more from a hostel! It was fantastic!
