The hostel was well run and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was included and this was good also, toast, cheese, eggs etc. I would happily stay here again and would recommend this to my friends. There are however some points that guests need to be aware of: very steep, narrow crooked stairs, few bathroom facilities and some of the rooms are smoking rooms. Ours was not but the smell of smoke from others drifted across the landing to our room.

I stay here regularly because of the friendliness of the staff, location and facilities. As a member of the YHA this is one of the best UK hostels I have stayed in.

This is one of the best hostels we have stayed in, very friendly staff and extremely clean and well maintained. The property has been renovated to a high standard and was a perfect base to explore the area. The only drawback was that the property was a little out of town and this meant taking the car as the hike was a little long. We particularly liked the artwork on the walls, all done by local children and think that this just made the hostel that little bit special. We will stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here although be warned the very long drive (almost a mile long) is potholed and we had a few dicey moments when meeting vehicles coming the other way. The surrounding area was fantastic and St Austell, Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan all within a short drive. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the garden had wonderful views over the countryside to enjoy over a beer. A very peaceful retreat.
This was a good, clean hostel/hotel in the same building as several others so a good place just to turn up. There was no common area however it is just 5 minutes from Termini so close to transport. Would definitely stay here again.
Do not book with this hostel. We arrived at 8.55, scheduled arrival 9.00, so only 5 minutes early, however the we were made to wait half an hour for the owner who said he had cancelled the booking, didn't we get an email. Still no email. It's not much fun being left in Rome on a very busy holiday week with nowhere to stay. We did get a deposit refund however this did not help the situation.
This was a good choice, right next to the Segrada Familia, hop on hop off bus and metro station. We enjoyed our stay here however there were a few issues which need to be resolved to improve the stay. There is not enough crockery, particularly cups and bowls, only one shower and on the final morning there was no breakfast which was included in the price. I would recommend this very highly, but be prepared to call the owner for breakfast if someone else has eaten it all.
Pleasant staff, good location, rooms fine. But the toilets were blocked and the showers only big enough to accommodate size 0 models, these need to be improved.
Our apartment was in one of the main squares right next to the old town. We had our own balcony overlooking the Grunwald statue. Breakfast was included and the price was unbeatable. We would definitely stay in these apartments again.
I had a brilliant time here, the only problem is that the 11.00pm quite time is not enforced making it noisy late at night. Good kitchen where everyone hangs out, would definitely stay there again.
I would definitely stay here again. The hostel was spotlessly clean, breakfast is provided and there are nice comfy armchairs in the kitchen area to chill out. Internet access in each room is a definite bonus.
This hostel is fine if you have your own transport. Getting there on public transport is a nightmare, however you can do it with some very careful planning. The staff are very friendly and can help but getting to the national park, the reason for staying at that hostel is also virtually impossible without your own transport. However it is wonderfully quiet in a local village with some picturesque spots. The hostel was also clean and the beds comfortable.
This is definitely not a place to stay long term. It is used as an overnight stop off for cyclists and is very noisy. That said, the staff were very friendly, the bed comfortable and the shower hot (when there was water).
The beds are extremely hard and do not make for a good night's sleep.
I had a good time in Killarney and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful in booking trips and activities. However very loud music was played in the reception and kitchen which was too loud, and the bathrooms definitely need a good overhaul as there was mould on the walls and ceilings which was really off-putting.
The location and basic accommodation were fine and the hostel was very secure and clean. The main downsides were the lack of coffee making facilities - only a fridge as provided, and the noise created by the other residents. A fine basic place to spend a night but not the usual busy hostel for backpackers.
Fantastic location and view of the Sacre Coeur, fast links via metro to the main sites in Paris and the nightlife of Monmatre on the doorstep.
This hostel is in the old hutong district of Dongcheng district and is well located for access to the central station and metro system. Very friendly staff, internet connection and good range of drinks and dvds to watch if you don't feel like going out.
The holiday was spoiled somewhat by the building work going on at the hotel. It is currently in the process of being renovated, and I think that we should have been warned of this as the workman began around 6.30am.
Difficult to find, the hotel is not visible from the bus stop as stated in the directions, it is hidden behind Lidls. Visitors should be instructed to walk through the Lidl carpark, Hotel Akena is immediately to the rear. Clear instructions should be given as to how to enter the building after the reception has closed (10pm) not 24 hours as stated in the details. A hole in the wall type machine is located next to the main door where a credit card needs to be entered before the door codes can be entered. Very confusing. The hotel however is clean, and the staff friendly. It is noisy and conversations in the neighbouring rooms can be heard.
Loved this hostel tucked away in the forest. It is a long way out but the bus drivers are friendly and you can buy tickets for 3 days or more. Definitely recommend this if you can find it.
Far too noisy, music until 4 in the morning and 100 people in one dorm. My idea of hell. Not recommended despite the great location and friendly staff.
