Cool, helpful staff, good location. 24 hours free internet if you book online (a great deal for NZ, which is one of the last holdouts who don't give you free internet for staying somewhere). They had a concert there on Saturday night, and they also have 10am checkouts. So it's a great place to stay if you want to meet people and have fun...but not if you want a quiet nights sleep or want to do early morning activities.
Small, clean house in a nice suburban neighborhood, walking distance from two main streets and buses. Definitely lines for the bathroom in the morning, since there are only 5 toilets (and 4 have showers with them in the same room). It's very basic, as they don't even offer tea or coffee in the morning. Also, no free internet, but that's standard for NZ. It's quite basic, but also a nice quiet place to start your journey in NZ.
Rooms are VERY small, but for the price in Hong Kong, you won't get much better. Good location right by the bus that goes to the airport, and across the street from the subway. No common area to hang out and meet people in, but it's a good place to stay if you need a place to crash for a day or two in HK.

Not a great place to meet fellow travelers, but its clean, quiet and in a good location. Friendly and helpful staff, too!
Great hostel. Located in the old city, 15 mins walk from all the other hostels and bar action, but in a nice quiet place. Two great courtyards, great crowd. A great place to base yourself out of for the northern Thai excursions, and a great place to meet fellow travelers!
This is a clean, quiet, affordable place to stay in a great location. Its a 10 minute walk from all of the action on Khaosan, on a nice quiet side street. Free breakfast is pretty good. There are a lot of families and a diverse group of people staying here. If you're looking for a party hostel, or a place to meet young, single travelers, then this isn't the best place for you...but if you're looking for a clean, quiet place to stay, then it's perfect.
