Che Lagarto Hostel Natal

Natal, Brazil

The place is amazing! Near everything, including the best beach of Natal and the nightlife. The staff is awesome, very helpful and cheerful. The dorm I stayed had a few mold spots on the ceiling and in the air-conditioner, they should definitely look into that. Also, they could add a few more power sockets in the dorms, my dorm had 4 beds and only 2 power sockets. Reading lamps over each bed would be nice too.

Ashfield Hostel

Dublin, Ireland

The worst hostel I've stayed during my 1 month trip. The place is old and not well maintained. The staff is not very helpful sometimes, I talked to 3 of them and only 1 really helped me. There are some tables and couches on the common area, but no atmosphere at all. There is no control of who goes inside the hostel, but every time you go out, you have to leave the room key at the reception and get it again when you return. No lockers in the room, only paid-lockers at the reception.

MEININGER Brussels City Center

Brussels, Belgium

This place is both a hostel and a hotel, so you'll see a lot of families around, even in the bar. This kind of kills the atmosphere that a backpacker would expect. Besides that, the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. It's within walking distance from the city center, most of the attractions, restaurants and bars. What they call "Laundry Facilities" is only 1 washer and 1 dryer, and at the time I was there, the dryer wasn't working. Make sure you go on the Free Walking Tour.

Flying Pig Downtown

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Excellent hostel, near the main train station and most of the main attractions. The bar downstairs is a great place to start or finish the night. Great breakfast included. Make sure you book a room with ensuite bathroom, there is only one shower and one toilet on each floor for the rooms without bathrooms, and some other toilets on the ground floor.

The MadHouse Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

MadHouse, the name says it all, only mad people around there. The staff is really awesome and very helpful, they wanna make sure that everybody in the hostel is integrated and having a good time, perfect for single travelers. Family dinner almost every night and they always take you out for some bar. Notice that all the common areas close at 10:30PM, so at this time you go to your room or you go party (go party, of course!).

Wombats City Hostel Berlin

Berlin, Germany

Excellent hostel, right in the centre of Berlin, walking distance from Alexanderplatz and easy access to transportation. The bar on the 7th floor is awesome and perfect to start the night. The rooms are quite big and very comfortable. And I guess this is a problem for all Wombats hostels but the wifi really sucks, it only works on the lobby when it works (and they know it, but just do nothing)

Five Reasons Hostel

Nuremberg, Germany

Very good hostel, right in the Old Town, perfect place to start a "walking tour", the staff is very helpful, really better than I expected, but the common area is really small, so almost no integration with other guests besides the ones in your room. Also, no bathrooms on the last floor.

Wombats City Hostel Munich

Munich, Germany

Excellent hostel, right next to the old town and to the main train station. The rooms are huge and the beds very good. The bar is a good place to start or finish the night. Bad points: for 3,80 Euro breakfast could be better, and the wifi really sucks, sometimes it's impossible to use.

Hostel Galeria 13

Salvador, Brazil

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed! The staff make the most for you to feel comfortable. They have a guide about where to go/eat/drink in the city, they can give tips about everything, and the Caipirinha happy hour every day is amazing! All rooms have AC and it really helps at night. They have two dogs so don't go there if you don't like dogs. Also, some spots at Pelourinho are quite dangerous, so just make sure you know were theses spots are and don't walk alone at night.
