They tried to scam us many times, and finally they did twice, the worst experience in Morocco :-( We asked for tour to dessert and the said 650d each. We accepted but we wanted to say they increased to almost 700d each because "comision"... :-( Another day we asked for a laundry service and they said 50d, but in the end we paid 80d because the guy who told us 50d wasn't there. The room was with no windows / no fan. You can find much better places on same street for 50d with AC and breakfast.

Common areas and toilets weren't as clean as you can expect. Internet din't work one of the two days we were. Also someone has to control the party time wasn't more late than midnight, taking care for people that tried to sleep at this time.

Timur Guesthouse

Kota Bharu, Malaysia

Beware with Timur Guesthouse! We have been stolen there! Being a dorm without lockers or door padlock, minimum security, anyone could did it. By other hand: only 1 toilet & 1 shower for all, high price to rent bike for few hours (50MYR!), passive staff... But the worst was staff smoking marijuana at night, leaving reception unattended, all the guesthouse was with marijuana smoke! :-(

The staff-man (Ari) is just amazing and really kind, great staff! Location is really good (really near night market). We felt safe all time there with our electronics, door locked with codes and cameras. Atmosphere was good and charming. Toilets, rooms and common area perfectly clean. We enjoyed and we would repeat if we go to Melaka again! :-)

Only 2 toilets and 2 showers for all guests (around 20 I guess!) and not clean at all. Common area big but empty, no good facilities. Staff OK, just "OK". You can find better optiones there with same price.

Hotel Xoai

Room was bit tiny but good and clean. Enough for us. Staff was friendly but the "staff boy" was bit pushy trying to sell us his "food tour" two times. We booked a floating market tour from the hotel, was OK. And we booked a bus to go to Saigon from hotel and well... the "bus" we paid for was in the end a mini-van!

Everything was "OK", but honestly we found better options for the same price when we were there for the next days. The standar room was without windows, bit dark. Staff was good.

Staff really friendly but the bungalows was sooo tiny and not clean at all, same as shared toilets/showers (dirty). Location OK but for same money you can find better places in better locations (center of Chiang Mai).

Be careful, the photographs of the dorm are not real! The hostel staff could be better. It is not easy to find the hostel. The rooms are fine, although there is only a shower and 2 toilets for 16 people (2 dorm), is ridiculous! Despite all this I think is one of the best choices of hostel in Hong Kong, for now.

Owner Comment (Hide)
hi francisco, thank you for your comment. As you know we are still renovating the place so there is slight variance of certain picture you might see but overall they are nice facilities. the girl whose name is Sara was a partime and no longer works here. we are so sorry that she gave you bad feelings but please don't be upset, asi m sure you also experienced great service from other staff. extra shower will be made so there will be two toilets and two shower by 8th dec . regarding the sign, we tried to do so and the management office insists we had to pay $2000 per month for any sign in public area of the building , and we might have to absorb such cost into extra room charge. i m sure if the guests read the Direction to the Hostel in the email confirmation, they will find us very easily. We guarantee you will experience better facilities and services next time when you visit !

The location of the hotel was great, very near from subway station. The rooms are REALLY small, but almost all hostels in Hong Kong have the same type. Not complete clean; some hear in bathroom. The staff was polite, not friendly, just OK. Anyway this hostel is enough just to spend 1-2 days only for sleep. And of course MUCH BETTER than any Chunking Mansion hostel! Don't go there to Chunking Mansion!
