Chinatown Travelers Home, Toronto, Canada

This place is horrendous. The building we were moved to was in an uninviting side street and the room had no air conditioning.Bed filled with bedbugs. I left after one night with 30+ bedbug bites all over my body. The fridge smelled rancid and there were hairs all over the bed and shower. The entire building smelled badly and the so-called 'kitchen' was filthy. Strange, stressed staff with virtually no English. No one seemed to be in charge which wasn't good for security. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

This is a great place to stay in. Staff are very helpful and the rooms are decently sized. There is a locked luggage room and only keyholders of the residence can access the elevators - good for security. The front door is a stone's throw away from a streetcar stop and a few minutes walk from a subway station. There are many reasonably-priced cafes nearby, and the university campus provides a great opportunity for walking. Only downside is no wifi, but the ethernet cables available are adequate.
