Rooms are basic but ok. Wifi is on and off. But the value here is in the service they provide. Guy at reception was very friendly and helpfull. They will arrange everything for you: Torres del Paine transport, tours, even our bus to El Calafate. Also they bring you to the bus station for free (bus station is quite far from the centre). They also did a day tour in Torres with just 5 people from the hostel in their own minibus. Great value! Breakfast is good!

This is one of the best hostels we've stayed in in South America. Just a 5 min stroll from central square and main street. Spacious room, excellent bed and shower. We had a private room with great view of the lake and got to use the jacuzzi for free. Staff is very helpful and speak perfect english. When our flight got cancelled they helped us to make all the necessary changes and arrangements. Finally the breakfast is also perfect with a range of choices and a woman making pancakes and eggs.

A nice place to stay. Garden to have your breakfast (basic breakfast is served: tea / coffee with bread and jam). Room and showers are good. There is a discount on sundays but you have to ask for it. If you don't, you won't get it. We asked for it, but the guy at check out wouldn't give us the discount. He said he was aware that there is a discount on sunday, but his boss had given him our bill, which had no discount, so there was nothing he could do. As we were in a hurry we just had to pay.

Torre is a good place to stay, but defenitely not the best we've seen in Bolivia. Best parts are the very friendly and helpfull staff, and the better than avarage breakfast. We didn't like that the rooms don't have windows, which gave it a damp and musty feel. In the first room we've stayed in the bathroom was really small, and the shower didn't have a curtain. So take one shower and the whole bathroom is soaked. We also used Torre for Salar the Uyuni tour which was pretty good!

This in the best hostel we've stayed in in Bolivia. It's maybe just a bit more expensive than avarage, bit it is worth it. Very clean and spacious room, excellent hot shower, and a friendly and helpful owner. Breakfast is way better dan the avarage hostel; bread, jam (no strawberry!), fresh fruit, eggs, yoghurt (no strawberry!), all served to your table.

Nice hostel / hotel on a fine location. Breakfast is above avarage, with juice, yoghurt, eggs, bread, fruit and more (and very friendly service). Double beds are on the small side. Luckily our room had an extra single bed.

We only stayed here one night, but it was a perfectly adequate place. Clean room, good bed. Basic breakfast is provided. Location is ok, just 5 minutes walk from main street with shops and restaurants, and the main square. When we had an overnight on one of the floating islands, we could store our bags at the hotel, even though we had no booking for the day after.

This is a really nice place to stay, close to the Monasterio, and just a few blocks from Plaza de Armas. Owner Jose is very friendly and accomodating. Rooms are ok, the floors are a bit dusty though. But for this price I think you could hardly find a better place...

A real find! Make sure you get a room on the second floor for amazing city views (on first floor absolutely no view!). Furthermore this hostel had everything you need; good beds, nice free breakfast, and a super friendly and helpful staff. When we had to leave early to the airport, they arranged a taxi for us and made sure we had some breakfast before we left. Absolutely recommend this hostel!

Loved our stay at Ekeko! Location in a quiet neighbourhood, right next to interesting pre-inca ruins, and walking distance from Miraflores centre. Best part is the wonderful staff who will help you with absolutely anything. Facilities are all right, but they should renew their kitchen facilities (kitchen itself is huge though).

It's a bit far from the city center, you need to take a taxi. We only stayed for 1 night, and because we had an early flight we asked the lady at reception if it was possible to have our breakfast at 7 (instead of 7.30). 'Yes, of course' she said. Next morning: no one to be seen, no breakfast. Man af reception doesn't know about the conversation. So we had to buy breakfast at Piura airport (which, by the way, is expensive and not very good!)

Very nice location near the old town (although the old town is very quiet in the evening). Amazing city views from the rooftop terrace. Serves an adequate breakfast for 3 usd. Also very convenient is the good tour operator Carpe DM across the street.

Most of the time, staff was nowhere to be seen. Locked myself out of my room once (don't ask), and it took me 45 minutes to find someone to let me back in. A lot of long-stay people don't help on the atmosphere.

Hello Ivo...thank you for your feedback. Firstly, let me apologise for the inconvenience of you being not be able to find a staff member. However, our Reception is opened between 9 am and 9 pm. We notify our guests that you can reach our Night Manager if there is an emergency overnight. You were locked out of your room, however, it is the guests responsibility to ensure that they have their key on them at all times. I do apologise that you were not able to contact the Night Manager. I really cannot advise you why he was not available at that time. Regarding the long stay people, as most people who visit Christchurch will realise there is a lack of beds available for both travellers and workers. A number of hostels, hotels and other accommodation providers were destroyed due to the recent months of earthquakes that we have experienced here in our region. There is a lot of demolishing and rebuilding of our city to be done. We are in an awkward position, as there are limited beds available and we need the workers to come and rebuild our city. We (and other hostels in Christchurch) are all trying to help to rebuild our shattered city and at times, we have to accommodate the workers. They are not long-stayers. We accommodate them for up to 2 weeks and we hope that in that time they move into alternative accommodation. I hope the rest of your stay in NZ was a happy one. All the best, Geri & Lee

Again another very good YHA hostel. Like the one in Te Anau, this is a lot smaller and relaxed than the avarage YHA. Great location directly at the lake. Definitely recommended.

6th Feb 2012

Annies is a decent place to stay when in Alice Springs, but don't expect to much of it. Rooms are small, and everything looks quite old. Including the sheets, which have tears and stains. Showers and toilets are not clean. But there are definitely good points, like free wifi and free breakfast starting at 5 am (which is great if you are going on an Uluru tour). There is a nice bar / restaurant in the hostel, with quite good 5 dollar-meals. If you're not into the hygiene thing, AP is quite ok.
