The atmosphere is very good. However, all the other aspects fail somehow. It's not safe (the main door stays unlocked all time), the staff is not the most friendly (I checked in midnight - my expected and informed arrival time) and they didn't want let me get in the room because it'd be too noisy. Anyway... The beds are louder than my luggage scrolling on the floor.
It's a good hostel, served by two subway stations just a few steps (Queens Plaza) or blocks (Queensboro) away. Everything is new and it's nice. There is a good kitchen but some staff people come all the time to check what you are doing and it's a little bit uncomfortable. There is a busy highway just in front and it can disturbs to sleep. The housekeepings are crazy but it's funny; they don't care if you're sleeping, they get in the room as a runaway truck making beds and cleaning the bathroom.
THE WORST HOSTEL EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD!The closest subway station is 41 blocks away from the hostel,so you need to take a bus, which is a shuttle line and it's always full and delayed. You have to get off the bus on a highway beside a cemetery and there's no sidewalk constructed. No hostel atmosphere. Some of staff members are very rude, especially on the phone. The kitchen is closed in the nights, when the people are in the hostel!Booking online is more expensive than calling there directly.
Very near to Universal Parks (you can go walking) and there is a free shuttle to Disney Parks.
