Staff were friendly and helpful in providing information. Location was near the subway line that connects to Shinjuku. The capsule rooms and adjoining bathrooms/sinks were clean, but the lounge on the 9th floor was kind of a mess, with really old random furniture and stains on the rug. But because they can accommodate up to 80 people, I understand that it's difficult to keep clean. Also, there were no electrical outlets in the capsules, so I recommend bringing a portable charger.

I only stayed there one night, much of which I spent out at Sensoji Temple, so unfortunately I didn't have much time to get to know the hostel. But the staff were really friendly, and the coffee in the morning was heavenly! The downstairs cafe/bar/lounge is really nice.

Really friendly host; felt like being in someone's house (well actually, it is her house). Rooms and facilities were very clean and fresh. Recommended.

We had a great time at Yasube. The owner was so friendly and down-to-earth, plus he makes great coffee in the morning. The free breakfast of toast was a helpful start to the day and saved us money. There are only 2 dorm rooms, so it never felt overcrowded. He even gave us little cups of apple juice on our way out. Best hostel I've stayed at in a long time--plus the "How to get here" video on their website is hilarious!!

The staff were very friendly, relaxed, and helpful, and it was easy to meet people. That being said, the stairwell carpet was worn down, and the Blue Room had torn-up couches and an open trashcan. It's right across the street from a nightclub, so the music was booming all night until well past midnight, making it hard to sleep. So if you aren't picky about cleanliness and like to party, this is the hostel for you. If you're picky about loudness and cleanliness, choose a different hostel.

I had such a great stay at Ed House. The multilingual staff were extremely helpful and easy-going, and they treated me as if I were family. Also located in the heart of the nightlife area. Because the hostel is relatively small, it's easy to meet other travelers in the common room. Definitely recommended.

Everyone was so kind, down-to-earth, and welcoming! I would definitely stay there again. Plus you can rent a beautiful kimono in a variety of styles.
