This is about as close as it gets to a perfect hostel. Comfy beds with their own lamps and plug sockets as well as curtain for a little privacy. Amazing location, rooftop bar with stunning views and good vibes. Fantastic staff who are helpful and amazingly knowledgeable about the city (Emre in particular really knows his stuff). I couldn't recommend this hostel more highly. Thanks for a wonderful stay guys.

Beautiful hostel in a lovely, tranquil location. Staff were friendly and included breakfast was great, though like all places in the fort, it's a little pricey. The common area, while nice, is a little too small for any sort of atmosphere to build. Wifi didn't work at all while I was there.
Great budget hostel, clean rooms, decent sized lockers, good breakfast, own bedside lamp and plug socket, late night check in possible. Staff were helpful and friendly at all times.
This was the worst hostel I stayed at during my trip. Lots of standard things are subject to additional charges here: Sheets, breakfast and Internet. There are limited times throughout the day when hot water is meant to be available yet the 3 times I showered during these times there was none. The heating in my room wasn't working and the slow, paid internet doesn't reach the rooms. Staff are also not around very often and when they are, they are slow, unfriendly and unhelpful.
Nice modern place. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great location, close to so many things that you want to see. Rooms are nice and clean and the kitchen is great when you're on a budget (there's a supermarket just next door too). A few minor things could be improved: lamps and plug sockets next to every bed would be nice as would an open WiFi network (having to ask for vouchers every 24hrs is a pain). All in all a very decent hostel.
Big, clean hostel with a lot of big groups and families staying there. Location is good, in a lovely valley near some very pretty places. Breakfast is good and the internet is included too but sadly doesn't reach the rooms (a few more power sockets wouldn't go amiss either). There isn't really anything organised for lone travellers to meet one another and the big groups make for a slightly less "traveller" atmosphere. Truly beautiful city
A good hostel that ticks all the boxes, the pod rooms are nice and give a sense of privacy even in a dorm room. The included breakfast is good and the staff are friendly. The pub quiz was fun, maybe a few more free activities like this might help improve the atmosphere a little as I found the prices for the pub crawl and beer tasting a little expensive for my taste. Internet doesn't reach the rooms either which means the common area is a little like a quiet internet cafe at times.
This hostel gets everything right; beautiful building in a great central location. Friendly, helpful and available staff. Rooms are big, clean and well equipped. Each bed has a lamp and a power socket, the free internet is throughout the building. Breakfast is very good and there are no hidden charges anywhere. Highly recomended
This place has the potential to be the decent hostel that Guangzhou is sorely missing. It's clean and modern, there's a great rooftop garden/bar with excellent views and the location is great; a short walk from next to one of the biggest interchange metro stations in the city. Right now it's a little quiet and the staff are a little over-eager to please, but when there are a few more travellers and the staff learn to chill out a little bit I think it could be the best in GZ, cheapest too!
Tough place to find, hidden away deep in the labyrinthine streets of the old town. Male staff member is exceptionally friendly, helpful and efficient. Small place with ok atmosphere, no real food on offer but not at all far from tons of restaurants. Very handy tiger leaping gorge shuttle early each morning.
Very nice family-run place. Good atmosphere, excellent staff and really great food, both western and Chinese. Nice common area and only a short walk from the bus and the old town, all that you want!
Nice enough place for a short stay. Open rooftop bar, free pool table and a free tea and coffee on arrival. Decent value for money food and drink and some very friendly/ helpful staff. A convoluted pick your own bed/fixed locker number makes for awkward checking in and out and means that your noisy electronic locker is inches away from someone else's sleeping head. Don't rely on them for tickets either, they didn't book mine after I asked them to.
Nice place, the decor in the bar/common area is cool. Staff were polite but not overly friendly, dorm was spacious with nice beds, own lamp and plug socket. Wifi available throughout hostel. Plenty of super clean showers on each floor, I never needed to wait. Atmosphere a little odd, a few too many people staying there long-term during internships etc detracted from what could have been a nice vibe
The line one/five location is great with a very short walk to the metro and just a few stops from the train station or the airport line. Spacious and clean private double with towels provided. Bed was big and comfy enough, Lockers in room were huge, big enough for a large bag or case and could be locked with your own lock. Wifi signal was strong and fast in the room all the way at the end of the corridor. Communal area was very small with zero atmosphere; a common feature in Guangzhou hostels.
Very good typical big hostel, very clean rooms, nice beds and linens, all the facilities you would expect. The staff were great and went out of their way to help me move dorm room when I complained about a family with a small baby staying there (surely families with infants should be expected to stay in a private room, no?). The location has character and is close enough to the major things you need. Only (minor) complaints would be the slightly high price of the room and the tours on offer.
Do you like arriving at a hostel to be told you need to make your own bed in a dark room full of sleeping people? Do you also enjoy curt conversations with surly, uncomprehending staff? If you answered yes, then you'll adore RiverSide YHA - one of China's most expensive* dorm rooms. *Towels, breakfast and polite service not included
Highly social backpackers' hostel. Great mix of local and native English speaking staff. Free walking tours offered every day and pub crawls and other social events each night. Rooms are comfy and clean enough with big lockers for all your stuff. Free breakfast is nice too. Can be a little noisy at night with the Latin place next door.
Tran lay has some of the friendliest, most helpful staff I've ever met. The room was basic, but clean and spacious. Breakfast was great. Close to the nightlife but still nice and quiet in the rooms.
Decent place with great facilities: swimming pool, pool table, bike and motor bike rental, tours and travel services etc. The buffet breakfast is fantastic and nearly worth the price alone. Location is good, halfway between the beach and the old town. If you can put up with the overworked and sometimes bad-tempered staff you will have a great stay.
Fantastic place, great location, great staff, very nice and clean rooms. Big TV hooked up to a computer that let's you watch the hundreds of movies they have available for free in the dorm room. Big solid lockers, comfy, quiet beds. Reasonable prices for tours and the free breakfast was a nice touch too. Truly exceptional hostel, especially when you consider the price.
Great location, great basic hostel. Clean dorm, WiFi throughout. Helpful staff. Not much to be said for atmosphere since there is no common area, there are however plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep.
Exceptionally clean hostel, friendly and helpful staff. WiFi fast and available everywhere. Minor downsides: a little far from the main night life, not enough plug sockets in room and creaky beds. All in all, very good for the money.
Nice enough place if a little pricey for what you get, ten minute walk from hongik uni which is a great area. The private room was big and clean if a little plain. The door had a wide gap down the side and it was made of very thin wood meaning we could hear conversations from both outside the room and downstairs until very late, there were signs asking for quiet but nothing to enforce them. Showers had low pressure, semi-hot water and the toilet door had a broken handle. Not awful, not great.
Kim was incredibly welcoming and made us really feel at home in Busan, the rooms were warm and comfy and the kitchen / common room area was a nice place to meet others. WiFi was fast and available throughout the house.
Very clean and warm hostel, comfy beds and helpful knowledgeable staff. The location is excellent and the free breakfast and coffee in the morning was the perfect start to the day.
