Bounce Sydney

Clean and nice modern hostel, great bathrooms, a nice kitchen and lounge area on the roof with great views of Sydney and a comfy tv lounge. Location is right next to central station but if you prefer walking over public transit it is a bit of a trek to get to the opera house and waterfront area. Loved the hostel though and would defnintely stay again.

Great party hostel. Stayed in both a 4 bed and then moved to an 8 bed - four bed was nice on a very quiet floor and quite relaxing. 8 bed was on the second floor which was considerably louder and the music of the bar could be made out, but barely. If you are concerned about noise and party atmosphere consider a smaller dorm room. Both rooms were clean and spacious with their own bathrooms. I would definitely recommend Cairns and Gilligans to younger backpackers looking for a good time.

Loved the hostel, great location, great staff, awesome common area. Wifi was a little iffy (front desk said I needed a cellphone, and couldn't even access it on my tablet?!), but rather than struggle to get it working I discovered I could use Global Gossip from the common room so it wasn't an issue. Would definitely recommend the hostel.

Friend's Hostel

Paris, France

The location is bitter sweet - easy to get to from the airport and right across the road from a metro station, but not the best part of town (most things to see/do are about a 45min walk or you have to take the subway). Toilets/showers/linens were clean and beds were comfy. The hostel is mediocre by euro standards, but with an open mind and a good attitude you can enjoy your time here! Cost is cheap too ;)

Really enjoyed my stay here! Downstairs pub is key and their pizza is excellent! Most major sights are a good walk away, but public transport is much closer! Light sleepers beware: Request a bottom bunk if possible because the second and third bunk wobble whenever anyone moves. Hostel was clean and beds were comfy - I definitely recommend!

Flying Pig Uptown

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Absolutely stellar hostel! Everyting is clean, everyone is friendly! Great bar with cheap beer is a great place to meet people. Two concerns: (1)There are lots of steep stairs to get up to the rooms, which can be annoying. (2) The location is excellent (right near public transit and a scenic 20 min walk to the heart of Amsterdam) but not quite as good as this hostel's sister hostel; Flying pig Downtown (which is slightly more expensive. Concerns are insignificant - stay here if you can!

Hi Thanks a lot for your feedback! We can learn a lot from your experciences so we really appreciate you took the time to fill this out. I am very happy to see so many 5's! Unfortunatley Dutch architecture can be a bit unforgiving when it comes to stairs but it gives us all a good workout. We also think that our location is excellent, right near Van Gogh and Rijks Museum, Leidseplein and Vondel Park :-) Thanks again and we hope to see you again in the future! Happy Travels Flying Pigs

A great hostel in Berlin! All is as advertised on Hostel world. Plan on using public transport to get most places, unless you are fond of walking (it is a scenic 30-45min walk to the major tourist areas if you are not into public transit). Highly recommended by this traveller!

A great hostel! Close to lots of sources of good food and tourist destinations such as Red Square and the Kremlin! Metro is close by too. Hostel was noisy sometimes (though it was always quiet after 11pm - I was in bed early because of the time change). Highly recommended for a stay in Moscow!

100% Recommend this hostel. Clean, comfortable, warm and very easy to get to from the train station. Lots of shopping a food nearby. Day trip to Lake Baikal (organized through hostel) was enjoyable, but pricey in small group. Great place to stay in Irkutsk! Enjoy your time there!

Siam Journey Guesthouse

Bangkok, Thailand
100%

On the surface Siam Journey has everything you could need in accomodation on a budget: keypad locked door, clean beds, clean bathrooms/showers, close to public transit (and airport) and internet access. Look a little deeper and you also find an amazing staff who are very knowledgeable - always willing to give you directions (or take you places themselves!). I stayed three nights and had dinner/drinks out with guests and staff every night - one of the best guesthouses I've ever stayed in!
