Perfect location in Lapa - was easy get here from the Rodoviario by bus & the Metro is also just a 10min walk away, easy get to the beach. 5mins walking (or less) to the Lapa arches, Selarón steps, Lapa street party, some cheap local restaurants & Lapa niteclubs. Onsite bar with cheap caipirinhas & good happy hour, but you can also BYOB which is great. Individual electrical outlets in my 10bed dorm, lockers, lots of toilets/showers, decent kitchen, big common area, good wifi, cable TV & netflix.

Good hostel, close to the pier, supermarkets, restaurants. Two kitchens (restaurants are VERY expensive on Ilha Grande), wifi worked everywhere 90% of the time, the downtime was an island problem, not a hostel problem. Cool place to chill for a few days. The "drying area" for clothes could use some sunlight or ventilation, nothing really dries there, it is just a place to leave smelly hiking boots!

Good hostel, huge breakfast. A/C in dorm (which was in secondary building across the road. Restaurants & beach within a couple of blocks. I arrived late & left early, only stayed for one night, but I will be back to Rio and would consider staying there again. Need to update directions to include how to get to hostel from DOMESTIC airport, I arrived on a flight from Manaus & had to figure it out for myself (there is a blue bus you can take for R$14, but it doesn't say "IPANEMA" on the front).
Thanks a lot for the comments Sean !!! Cheers

The luggage storage room is right inside the front door & unlocked, although there are small lockers for valuables. A homeless looking man was hanging around outside trying to gain entry - this was the middle of the day. Reception is on the 2nd floor so no real security. "Community" dinner overpriced considering the amount of food, although the nearby market is an excellent cheap option for lunch. Hostel seems to attract people on shorter trips rather than backpackers. A long ways from nightlife

Great terrace with view of La Paz. Very close to main bus station. Best WiFi in Bolivia (still terrible, this Bolivia!). Charging lockers in reception for your electronics (but no sockets dorms). Showers were mostly hot. Stayed about a week either side of a climb of Huayna Potosi, atmosphere varied, depending on guests. Good place to stay in La Paz.

Nice hostel close to the Recoleta Mirador & a short walk from the Plaza 25 de Mayo. Kitchen is well equipped, this is a great place to stay if you are staying in Sucre for a week or two learning Spanish. Internet worked well enough on the rooftop to make a few Skype calls - not easy in Bolivia! Staff excellent.

It is what it is - a party hostel for gringos. Overpriced bar staffed by permanently semi-drunk "volunteers". If you're looking somewhere to party for a night or two it's great, otherwise avoid...WiFi barely worked (just about able to check emails). Mattresses extremely comfortable, but don't expect to get much sleep at normal hours.

Good hostel located in an old colonial building, a great option if you don't want to stay in Miraflores. Walkable to the fountain show, Plaza de Armas, Iglesia de San Francisco etc. Easy to meet people, bar & common area. Wifi is very poor however, & only "works" in the reception/common area & bar - maybe in your dorm if you get the one right by reception.

Good hostel within easy walking distance of the main Zocalo, very easy to get to from the TAPO on the metro. The "bar" (a fridge) was out of beer when I was there, but that was better because we could just walk to the nearby Oxxo. Good common areas, easy to socialise. Wifi worked everywhere & was fast. Few strange long-termers in my dorm, but other than that this hostel was great.

Booked at this hostel, but upon arrival the guy at reception looked at me like I had two heads. Eventually I was sent across the road to their other property, so this review is for there...The good: close to Zocalo, breakfast, common area. The bad: no wifi in rooms, no atmosphere whatsoever - I was here during Dia de los Muertos but no effort at all was made to celebrate it, all they had to do was provide a little bit of B&W face paint or something...More hotel than hostel

+ located close enough to Gare-du-Nord. Reasonably priced. - The only common area is the small bar, wifi not free, there were three beds (one bunk) in a tiny room which only had room for two - the third bed blocked access to the bathroom. Not enough electrical outlets in room. >In summary, fine for one night if you are just passing through Paris via Gare-du-Nord, would want to find another hostel if staying longer

Great value for money hostel in La Candelaria. Friendly, helpful staff, good free breakfast. Only complaints were that the WiFi router was not strong enough to work in the outdoor sunny area,

Good hostel close to the ADO bus station & R1 bus to the beach. Free breakfast & dinner were great, free tequila shot...not so much. Drinking game can be a bit annoying, but if you're only staying a night or two in Cancun this is a good place to stay

Good hostel, clean, free breakfast, big kitchen. Only one bathroom/shower in my large dorm meant some waiting though. The location could also be better explained in the directions - Jesus y Maria is not the first or second street you'll find when in the square after walking out of Tirso de Molina.

5minute walk to the Nou Camp, 5minute walk to 2 metro stops. Huge common spaces in the basement & on the rooftop. Very friendly & helpful staff, good standard of cleanliness throughout. Only major problem was the wifi networks (there are 3 of them for different areas of the hostel) - they were so slow I couldn’t even perform a speedtest as the website wouldn’t fully load before the connection would time out. OK to quickly check emails, but very frustrating when trying to do anything else.
Thank you very much for staying with us, hope to see you again in Yellow Nest Hostel

Good hostel, 30minute walk to Red Square. Fast wifi, good TV room, hot showers, plenty of space in dorm. Perfect for my short stay in Moscow.

EASILY the best hostel in UB, nothing else comes close. Only hostel where there is a good mix of nationalities & excellent large common room. Other hostels I stayed at were tiny converted apartments. Only negatives were the fact there was only one working hot shower & it was only hot at VERY low pressure (there were two cold ones downstairs). Also beware not to (massively) overpay for Gobi tours - bargain hard or ask elsewhere.

Location is good, 5 minute walk to People's Square. Wifi very frustrating, there are about 20 different networks, some with two-stage sign-in, but none seem to work for longer than 5 minutes at a time. Also, would it really hurt the profit margins that much to provide toilet paper?

Very social hostel, great place to meet other international travellers. Much better atmosphere than other Korean hostels I stayed at. Good location, easy walking distance from Hongik University subway station & all the bars & clubs in Hongdae.

Okay for a night or two, but atmosphere was poor during my stay. Found a JSA/DMZ tour for much cheaper than the hostel were offering. 6 bed dorm actually has 7 beds, not as described. Long walk up/down the stairs between the rooms on the 5th floor to the common room in the basement. Not necessarily toilets on your floor, depending on your gender.

Good hostel well located very close to the train station. Also walkable to Anapji Pond, Cheomseongdae Observatory and the Royal Tombs, although they offer bike rental too. Excellent kitchen and free laundry machine a bonus!!

Great location, less than 5 minutes walk to the beach, 10 minutes to subway. Bus 307 from airport passes right in front. Friendly, helpful staff. Good kitchen. Great value hostel in Haeundae.

Decent hostel, just a short walk from the main JR train station & bus station, although the online directions need updating - there is no AU cell phone shop. Staff were helpful & friendly. Many older guests staying in private rooms who never made any effort to speak to anyone outside their group brought the atmosphere down (a common problem in hostels in Japan - these people should really stay in hotels).

Conveniently located a 2minute walk from subway station. Friendly, helpful staff, spotlessly clean. Atmosphere more like that of a budget hotel, as most guests are staying in private rooms.

Perfectly fine for my one night stay, everything was as I expected, no major complaints. Shower room should really be open later than 8am though...

Triple bunk beds are better than doubles as they are sturdy & don't shake. Individual plugs & lockers. Offer cheap scooter rental

Not a great hostel by international standards, but okay for Perth...located a short walk from downtown, or on the free RedCAT route. Major plus for this hostel over others in Perth is the wifi - pay a one-off fee (or get the password from another guest or friendly staff member) & you have proper, unrestricted wifi 24/7 (a rarity in Australia).

Wifi is not free as advertised, you just get a 30minute voucher which is almost useless. Thereafter it is extremely expensive. How are you supposed to find a job when you can only use the internet for 30minutes a day?
Thank you for your review, as the Hostelworld website states that you get 30mions free per night stay with you stay.
