The highlight of Gjirokastra are the old Ottoman mansions, but while some of them are converted into museums, the Babameto House is a hostel you can stay in stepping its historical fllors and enjoying the picturesque view from the windows! The atmosphere is very familylike, and Alma in particular is extremely welcoming and caring. An unforgettable experience.
Due to the low season I was almost the only guest in this brand new, shiny clean hostel and could enjoy entirely its comfort and warmth. Klejda and her uncle are exceedingly kind, generous and welcoming. They made my time in Berat absolutely perfect and i would love to come back yo this lovely, peaceful, still not very touristic and incredibly beautiful town and stay in Ana's rest house again, of course.
This hostel is incredibly good. It is your chance to stay in an old historical building, perfectly clean and restored but still keeping its antique grandeur. Hrsto and his team are exceedingly welcoming and the comforts they provide you with would make you stay indoors whatever the weather´s like.
Cat is amazing and she runs an amazing hostel. She welcomed me with coffee and a nice chat about Sarajevo and other cities where she had lived. Although I spent just a night there it was enough for me to feel completely at home. The place is cozy, comfortable, very safe and full of any facilities you need. The location is an advantage as well.
Usually i'm too lazy to write comments. But this hostel is so fine that it would be unjust not to thank the amazing people who run it! Atmosphere they create is warm and relaxed and having a spacious lounge on the roof and a kithchen downstairs are great options.
