We have stayed at many hostels in Asia. This was the best ever - contemporary, nicely decorated, clean and orderly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There are many delicious street vendor foods offrred in the nearby streets - spiced fried potatoes, herb filled bread cooked like naan, and many other treats. Great vibe in the hostel, and even some english TV channels.
The bar downstairs makes it pretty noisy until 0200 in the seond bay. Terra cotta warrior tour seemed lnger than it needed to be, eight hours, but the guide was well informed . The yangtze tour was cheap but it was a chinese speaking crew andno effort was made to inform us of schedule changes, I.e., instead of 1230 tour to dam, everyone packed up and got on buses at 0730 the people were pretty nice. Music was turned on in the hallways at 0600 with loud announcements for tour goers.. Good food
Great location near metro, Forbdden City. Great hutong for shopping and eating, dim sum right across from hostel and affordable delicious restaurants all around. Their Great Wall tour was uncrowded and well worth it. Lots of interaction in the restaurant bar. Helpful staff and clean rooms.
Great location right on the Nea English Embankment, but still a little hit of a hike to sights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Most spoke good english.Scenic spot right on Neva.Kitchen and lounge facilities were great. There was no hot water (evidently a temporary problem).Reception area very noisy until wee hours. The place was definitely funky DIY, but it's great they have saved this abandoned mansion in a row of elegant buildings. Have Ivan tell you where to get Uzbeki food!
The staff was incredible... very friendly and helpful. No heat in the room and it was cold in January. Second stay we were given a room with HEAT, a huge improvement. Sunny standard breakfast on the rooftop. Only 150 ft from the Jamaa el Jna plaza; yet very quiet at night. Great place to stay in Marrakech.
Printed directions were confusing; it is only a few minutes from the train stqtion: Helpful personnel; microwave; great location:
This is just a few minutes walk to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehab Center. The atmosphere is very relaxed and beautiful- palm trees, ponds and they also have a beautiful pool in the middle of the jungle. We enjoyed our stay here dining al fresco and enjoying the beauty of the jungle. While it's on the main road to the Orangutan Sanctuary, it's about a ten minute ride to the bus stop so many tours are arranged here and the receptionist, Fang, spoke excellent English and was extremely helpful.
