Wombats City Hostel Budapest

Budapest, Hungary

Not bad... bar is good, common areas OK but a bit bleak, mattresses comfy... but it's an industrial size 500 bed hostel so it's a bit short of coziness and atmosphere. Staff are OK but seem too harrassed and overworked to be too friendly. Dorms are spacious. But noisy, you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the corridor

Hi there!Thank you for your useful feedback and we hope you enjoyed your stay in general. That`s true, that by check in/out time it can be extremely busy for our staff to socialize with the guests, but they always take their time to provide you the most imprtant insider tips and information. Also, since the reception is 24h open, you can always return if you forgot something or if you just need some company.Cheers from Budapest

Lovely place with fantastic staff and a chilled friendly feel. Some bits of construction work still going on but they kept this to after 10am so not really a problem. Cafe at the front that home-bakes amazing chocolate cookies, far too tempting, forced to buy one every day. Luckily had bikes to rent so could burn it off :)

Santa Mix Hostel

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Very cosy and friendly. Small happy hostel so it gets a good vibe, can get to know everyone. Rooftop barbecues with the owner, view over Rio. Rooms a bit small, showers need cleaning a more often - once a day isn't good enough in a hostel! Lockers are metal and it's impossible to open and close them quietly. Could do with some more power points for charging. These are minor points though, overall very good and would stay here again.

Happy Buddha Boutique Hostel

Medellin, Colombia

Very modern and clean. More a boutique hotel than a hostel. Unfortunately a bit lacking in atmosphere, and the common areas a little empty. They've made such a good job of the private rooms... but the bathrooms... One had no vents, so you take a shower and your bedroom turns into a sauna, the other was tiny squeezed under the roof so you bang your head on a lethal edge. Hot water? If you're lucky. And the towel hook fell off and the toilet broke. Staff excellent, would stay again.
