Price was good considering alternatives during the Edinburgh festival, but otherwise would be too expensive. Far away from the city centre (it's not even technically Edinburgh anymore), but we'll connected via buses. There was a kitchen and coffee making facilities, but for the price I would have also expected pots, pans and crockery, etc. Self catering was not possible. All round, I would recommend if you want to go to Edinburgh during the fest and save some money, but not really otherwise.
Rooms very unclean, tiny, and noisy. Rooms were not cleaned during our 4 night stay, nor was toilet paper restocked.

Great location, cool rooms and a good price. Staff could have been a little more friendly, and it would be nice if smoking inside wasn't allowed. There was a party in the lounge area with smoking which prevented us from being able to enjoy the facilities. Otherwise had a lovely stay.
Lovely clean and well-fitted rooms. Bed was extremely comfortable. Very helpful staff! Very much enjoyed the stay!
Very large and a bit impersonal but absolutely top-notch facilities. Very clean, room was lovely. Breakfast variety was really good. Free tour was great even though it was freezing, and I would recommend the bar-crawl.
Good location but bad atmosphere. Small rooms, dingy bathrooms. Staff expected us to be very quiet at night - keeping voices to around a whisper. Very uncomfortable to go back to the hostel if you come home late. Fine for quiet couples or groups who like to stay inside or only go out during the day. Not good for young people.
