Not a bad place: I'd stay here again.
I'm not sure why this hostel has such a low average rating, it's not too bad, I imagine it's because there is no shower, (only a mandi) and squat toilets. The hotel is very clean and rooms have aircon and you get glass of tea and a bun for breakfast. Location is so-so, it feels quite far from the Chinese quarter and from the main roundabout/town square but it is quite close to the airport which is handy. I'd probably stay here again if I come back to Semarang.
This place gets so much right - dorm beds in the Japanese capsule style giving you more privacy than bunk beds, Beer sold at 7Eleven prices, so you don't have to leave if you're on a bit of a budget. Decent music played in the common room, and fast internet (which is a rarity in Indonesia). Would stay here again.
Really chilled, great staff, fantastic location next to some top Chinese eateries. Would stay here again.

Good location for nightlife, less great for getting downtown, but there's very little sightseeing in Manila anyway, so that's not a problem. Staff are helpful informative and there's a decent Mexican restaurant around the corner.
Damp and grotty; basically a Bedsit with 4 single beds crammed in. I stayed here around new years because there was no-where else available and it was acceptable for a few nights, but i wouldn't stay here again. The house keeper was very friendly and helpful though.
Really good hostel, highly recommended.
Really good breakfasts; friendly staff, and a pretty good location.
A bit away from the west side of Taipei, but close to tube and train stations and very clean. Staff are excellent and I met a lot of cool people here.
Reasonably good place, the slightly better of the two Naha budget hostels.
It's not as bad as some of the reviews suggest, if you've back-packed around South East Asia then you'll be used to this sort of standard of accommodation. It's not as spotlessly clean and comfortable as hostels and guesthouses on the mainland, but it is less than half the average price. I'd stay here again.
Cheap and cheerful accommodation, no complaints at all.
One of the best hostels I've stayed at in Japan. It's a fantastic traditional house, the owners are brilliant and helped me dry out my shoes after the snow got them wet, There are book cases full of manga and they have a dog who wears underpants and a cat that is kept on a lead. Highly recommended.
Really liked this place. Jimmy was really helpful and runs a very clean hostel! Recommended.
Japanese house, hidden around the back of an apartment block. I really liked this place, the owner was super helpful - highly recommended.
Fantastic little place, very clean and great value for money. Internet was a little dicky, but the staff said they'd sort that out.
Really liked this place, friendly staff etc. Would stay here again.
Not a bad place for the price, good bar and close to the Tube station.
Very clean, professionally run hostel, no complaints from me.
Fantastic little hostel, very, very clean. Location is good, but not great (a little bit away from the castle/gardens). Very helpful staff and comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again.
Very quiet little place tucked into the backstreets of Osaka. Very friendly staff, electric blankets etc.
Great hostel in Kyoto. would stay again.
Nice hostel with a cool cafe attached to it. Location is a bit away from the centre of Kobe - it's in the red light district.
For the price - (about ten dollars when I was there) this is a pretty excellent choice.
Really nice hostel, very clean, staff very friendly.
Yeah not a bad place. Dorm rooms are bit crud, but the common room is aces
Fantastic place. Pity it's going to become a coffee shop. Bye bye :)
Very clean comfortable hostel, a little bit out of the way of the town centre, but within walking distance of the Bukhansan national park.
Really enjoyed my time here - friendly owners and quite a good breakfast too.
A good place for the money, also you can meet quite a lot of other travelers here. Recommended.
An amazing little house overlooking the Black Sea and Sukhumi, the facilities are basic (no indoor plumbing) but you get the whole house. The owner is very knowledgeable about Abkhazia and can arrange excursions into the mountains. I really enjoyed my stay here. Also the house has a resident cat who will follow you around everywhere and sit on your lap. I like cats so this was a good thing.
Excellent hostel, enjoyed my stay here. When I booked I got an email confirming my reservation and the price, which added a 4 Euro service charge, however when I actually got to the hostel and checked in and paid, there was no service charge, so I don't know what that was about. The hostel is really good though and in an excellent location - recommended.
Very friendly owner you will make you free tea, rooms have aircon and it has a very central location. Downside, only a couple of showers shared between lots of rooms. Overall recommended.
Like this place - second time I stayed here!
Decent place to stay for a few days - run down but very friendly staff. Also there appears to be a pigeon nesting in the window of one of the dorm toilets, which I liked.
Amazingly relaxed and friendly staff, really great atmosphere, one of the best places I stayed at in Sri Lanka, very highly recommended.
It was a little bit quiet when i was there but the staff were friendly and the location ( about 300m from the beach and the main road) meant I got a good nights sleep.
Not a bad hostel. Very hot rooms though.
Excellent. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Definitely try the evening meal, the food is delicious.
I read all the previous reviews and so I knew what to expect, yes it is very basic, it's expensive for what it is. I found the staff friendly and helpful though and it is the only hostel listed for Gibraltar. It was acceptable for one night's stay, which is okay because Gibraltar is small enough to cover in one day.
Excellent staff, very clean, I'd highly recommend this place
Had the misfortune to stay on a night in which the street outside was being re-surfaced at (I promise you) 3 o'clock in the morning. And then the electricity cut out, which meant no fan, so it wasn't a great nights sleep. To be fair I'm not sure that those were the hotel's fault and shower was pretty good for a budget hotel.
Excellent hostel, helpful staff, near to the lake. Had a good nights sleep (which is ultimately, what counts). I would stay here again if I came back to Bled
Excellent, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, very well informed staff. Location is a bit out of the centre, but it's a worthwhile trade-off for a quiet nights sleep. I'd stay here again if I came back to Ljubljana.
excellent location, friendly staff.
Higgledy-piggledy hotel equidistant between the centre of Strasbourg and the train station, nothing astonishing but very good for a few nights.
Great location, very good staff. When I went the lights in the bathroom didn't work, so having a shower after about 6pm was somewhat off the cards though.
