We had to leave as the dorm room was too small for us and our bags. We weren't the only ones to complain about the dorm size- there really is no room! Far too hot in the rooms with no a/c. Rude staff when came to getting a refund and tried to charge us for the first night when it was a problem with their facilities, not a case of a no show. We were over-charged at check-in and took me to research the original price to rectify the mistake so always double check. Great location, stunning views.

Really enjoyed our stay. The bathroom in the 4 bed dorm could do with some modernisation though.

FANTASTIC little hostel with lots of character and charm. Th kitchen is the best I have ever experienced whilst travelling. It is spotless. The whole hostel is so so clean. The kitchen prvides some basics like coffee, tea, sugar, oil, spices etc. Free internet which is unheard of in NZ. Th only thing that let it down was the location (they do offer free rented bikes though)

Staff were so kind and friendly. Cute little hostel so very close to ferry terminal. A bit dated but it adds to the charm.

The 10 bed dorm smells of urine really stronlgly, it makes you feel sick! The showers are cold and weak and one time I had to change shower half way through as the water stopped. The toilet leaked. The laundry facilities are awful. No idividual lights in dorms. Nice decking area, good pool and hot tub but could do with some maintenance. Dorm rooms need better security, anyone could just walk in off the street- an electronic key card system with automatic locking door would be better.

Very rude and uninterested staff at reception. Travel desk are lovely. When we arrived they made us wait 20 minutes before we checked in whilst they just sat chatting at the desk- when I interrupted and asked if I could check in now they said no and went back to chatting. A ridiculous cutlery and plate system. Big bag of maggots in kitchen /unsanitary utensils, no drying clothes. Filthy bathrooms. Not enough powersockets in rooms, broken a/c + fan. No personal reading lights. Tiny pool.

Very dirty kitchen and rooms. Bathrooms were kept clean though! Far too noisy- you will not sleep a wink but it is the price to pay for the awesome location. The beds are flimsy and feel like they are going to collapse, the slighest move causes a racket. The worst thing is the heat- totally unbearable. Not even a fan for an 18 bed dorm. For the price you pay they could easily afford some air-conditioning. No internet in room. Cosy common area.

Fanastic stay! Worth every penny. Best hostel we have ever stayed in! One member of staff could do with spending less time being rude to Wesern girls and flirting with the Western men though.

The bathrooms are suprisingly spotless considering you share with a lot of people. The staff are really friendly. However, the noise at night is just far too much. I can party with the best of them but every night the music is far too loud and stops you from sleeping. Even people on the 5th floor complained about the volume.

This is a difficult one to write. Everything was ok about the hostel but a few things made it difficult not to score lower. 1- airco is only availble for a couple hours a night. 2, the door is always left unlocked in dorms. 3- and this is the worst of all- the company they use for their bus tickets. We booked a bus journey to Laos- it left us stranded in the middle of nowhere after taking us halfway down Cambodia and back and left us stuck and scared after travelling for 16 hours. No Laos!

Firstly thanks for your review .I am so sorry to hear your experience at our Villa was such a negative one.Your bus trip sounds like it was an absolute nightmare.I will be calling the bus company this morning to find out what is going on. I will make sure this never happens again to our customers. 1.Our a/c is switched on at 6.30 pm and switched off at 7.30am but if customers are stil sleeping we leave it on and we will also switch it on if the customers are feeling hot during the day. 2.We have 24hr reception and security reception has a direct view of the door. Customers are entering and leaving the room regularly so there is no point locking and unlocking the door . 3.From my experience I have seen lockers in dorms get broken into so we have a safe at reception for customers to keep any personal belongings and also a storage cupboard for any larger items. Thanks for the reveiw this can only help to offer even better service to our customers your comfort is our number 1 priority.

Amazing! We had such a great time here and were very sad to leave! The staff were the friendliest we have come across and made us feel very welcome. They remembered our names straight away and treated us like friends. When they weren't working they invited us to do things with them, showed us a bit more of Sihanoukville. I usually hate shared bathrooms but these were cleaned hourly and modern. The prices are great as well as a stunnng location. Thanks for an unforgettable time.

Very friendly staff. I think we were given the smallest room though. You get a/c and fan which is brilliant. I slept really badly due to the noise from the street at all hours. The toilet seems to leak a bit when flushed but nothing dirty. Little touches like lime over the bathroom plug holes were nice. A lot of stairs.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. We booked this hotel specially for the 24 hour check in as we were arriving from Vietnam at a unsociable hour. We contacted the hotel for a pick-up and to let them know what time we were arriving. This was all fine. When we got there we had no room! The cheeky staff said we should go and look around for 5 hours until they would let us check in- DESPITE US RESERVING THE ROOM FOR 24 HOUR CHECK IN!!! It was 4am. We did not want to 'look around'for 5 hours at this time. We left the hotel.

We had booked a train station pick-up and they didn't turn up. The man on duty when we arrived was disinterestd and went racing up the stairs without helping me with my bag when it was clear I was struggling to the top floor. The room is above a nightclub which does't stop till midnight and the aircon is not available throughout the day. The shower was dreadful- it was light a trckling faulty tap dripping onto your head ever so slowly- it took forever to shower. The are some good points though.

The staff are amazing and very friendly. The hostel could do with a lift though. 105 stairs to the top floor carrying my bag gave me a blood blister! The staff are the best I have ever experienced.

Very helpful staff who seemed genuinely concerned when my boyfriend was ill and got a Dr to come out to see him. He was always asking after him. He also organised a courier service that was cheaper than DHL for us. There were a few power cuts but that isn't their fault. Some extra protection like screens at the windows to help protect against mosquitos would be good and some air conditioning. On the whole a great stay, value for money, location and staff.

We turned up after 24 hours of travelling t6o find the hostel CLOSED DOWN!!! It is not located by the beach, non of ther locals had heard of it. When we showed up there were no signs of life, no accomodation just empty fields, a broken down bar and a dump where the supposed 'seating area' was meant to be. Hostel World should not allow bookings to be made for this hostel when it is closed. We had to wake up a local taxi driver at 6am to take us somewhere else. Very very dissapointed.
