Brilliant hostel. 4.5/5. Only improvements would be to have WiFi in the rooms rather than just communal area and not have to pay for the towels ( deposit fair enough but a fee seems slightly stingy!) Otherwise cannot fault staff, room, atmosphere, facilities.

Well signposted from the bus station; turn left and head towards the big church! Very comfortable, slightly basic place to stay in this very quaint city.

A bit too big and lacking a personal touch for my taste. Staff tended to be constantly busy so not that easy to catch for advise. Front gate left open so didn't feel that secure. Boat trip booked through hostel only went to 2 beaches so advise to look elsewhere. Room very comfortable more like hotel. Good bar area for meeting people. Don't eat at hostel as its a bit of a rip off.city centre is 5mins away and absolutely beautiful....don't get stuck spending all your time in the hostel!

Excellent location in the safer side of San telmo. Very helpful, enthusiastic staff. Lovely double ensuite room. Good breakfast. More b n b than hostel and prob not a great place to meet other travellers but right in the cultural heart of BA.

Great location, nicely decorated old house. Double room v comfortable, quiet and secure. Breakfast OK, shared bathrooms quite good. Unfortunately kitchen always seemed to be a bit of a tip but this was a small negative in a generally v good hostel.

We struggled to find a hostel on the internet and booked this as it was the only one we could find. First thing to say is the outside of the hostel is just a normal door on the street with no sign, maybe good for security but makes finding it slightly tricky!20 min walk to town but safeish area. Hostel dated but OK for a couple of nights. Best to just turn up rather than book on net as hostel worlds price was almost double the normal rate!

Everything you need in a hostel. Slightly run down, but nicely decorated and clean throughout. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. We stayed Fri and sat night and didn't get much sleep due to people staying up drinking and then getting back from a club and making a lot of noise around 5.30am, bit annoying, not the hostels fault though.

This is a b n b rather than a hostel so the atmosphere is a bit more civilised but very friendly. We had a good double room and the shared bathroom was great and you get lovely huge towels to use. Breakfast v good and staff very helpful. Can't use kitchen but there is a kettle and microwave available

We had a double room with shared bathroom in the outside block of the hostel. The room was v comfortable. The block was left open 24/7 but we did have a key to our room. Bathrooms varied but we were able to find a good one upstairs with a good shower. Great breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.

We had a double room with shared bathroom. The bedroom was excellent and bed was very comfy. We were located ina secondary block, which had a common room with TV-good for meeting people, and at least 3 bathrooms - quality of shower varied between bathrooms but we found one which was excellent. Had a key to our room but building left unlocked. Great breakfast and good kitchen for cooking. Bit annoying to have to go outside to get into main building but no problem. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed 6 nights here and highly recommend! House is clean, cosy and quite quirky as it is built up into the hillside so some rooms have 2 levels or a slanted roof. 3 guest rooms in the house, with a bathroom and kitchen with dining table available for guest use, seldomly used by family who have their own kitchen and bathroom. Family are incredibly welcoming and feels more like staying with a favourite aunt. Good breakfast-lovely coffee, daughter speaks fluent English and is very informative.

Welcoming hostel, nice vibe. Good double room. Clean bathrooms with good shower. Standard breakfast. Good location. Slightly strange that nobody seems to get out of bed until after 9.30am but at least its quiet if you want a lie in.

Millenium House

Valparaiso, Chile

Just like staying with a relative. Very welcoming, warm atmosphere. Large double room. Good breakfast, slightly pokey bathroom but good hot shower. Generally found Valparaiso at night, a bit scary as there are a few dodgy characters on the streets and plenty of dark, narrow alleyways. Hostel is located on a stairway and we didn't have any problems but would advise people to not walk around alone anywhere in the city as there had been tourists robbed elsewhere quite recently.

Great location in leafy boulevard near universities, felt quite safe walking around at night. Friendly helpful staff at hostel who cook a lovely breakfast, which is included. Our private room was clean and comfortable. Only negative to say is the floor boards are very squeaky when people are walking around so sleep a bit disturbed. On the plus side the old colonidal building did have a lot of character and a lot of space. Good communal areas. Great location 25min walk to mainplaza 5 min to metro

We stayed in a private room which was very new and absolutely lovely. Good hot shower, nice breakfast, helpful staff, good location halfway between bus station and city centre. Highly recommend this hostel. Extra info it is quite a walk to the beach so be prepared with good shoes and probably avoid going when dark as road a bit isolated

We stayed in a private room with shared bathroom, which was clean and comfortable. Main guy that worked there was excellent - gave us a welcome tour and map on arrival and was full of useful information. Generally a comfortable, hammocky type atmosphere. Breakfast ok. Showers cold but not a problem while in the desert. Easy walk into town.

Hostel owner Roberto is the most enthusiastic, cheerful and welcoming person we have come across in any hostel. We arrived at midnight and were greeted with a welcome beer, a map and lots of helpful information. We stayed in a private double ensuite. It was a nice room but unfortunately didn{t have a lock so we had to use lockers which was a little annoying. Breakfast was great and the general atmosphere in the hostel is laid back and very comfortable. Easy transport to town in shared taxi
