Lovely row of townhouses being renovated- close to CN Tower and opposite park. We had a large ensuite room with TV. Older style but very comfortable. Free wifi in lobby. No breakfast but kitchen available.

We did provide breakfast for 8years! But like most hostels, breakast was very simple! And since the new cafe opened right beside us, NOBODY was taking breakfast. So food just went into the garbage. So now everyone is referred to the new cafe that was voted " BEST new cafe in the city ". No hostel can compete with it!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in an ensuite room which had TV. The room was clean and tidy but a bit small. It was close to cafes and markets. Good breakfast and great views towards the mountains from the roof top cafe. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Convenient locality in old city centre- Our room had a fridge and airconditioner which was broken but fixed on request. Staff speak little or no English which made communication difficult. Tour operator on ground floor very helpful (Paulo) and is to be recommended. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.

After three months travellng through Europe this was the worst we have encountered. Great locality near city centre and lake, but no TV, no wi-fi, no lift, no ventilation, no where to buy food, vending machine out of order, no drinks available, no entertainment or activities, ordinary breakfast. Room very small. We had two large cases and we put them on the floor we couldn't fully open the bathroom door. There was no power point in the bedroom for recharging cameras or phone.

Great accommodation and staff. Rooms are up 3 flights of stairs with no lift although staff did help with luggage. We had our own porivate bathroom but it was 3 doors down the corridor and we would have liked to have a TV to watch the Olympics. Great breakfast and our negatives are only minimal.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Dear Alan, thanks a lot for the nice words. Unfortunately about the TV, according with the italian law we should pay a "State TV Tax" of more than 450 euro just to place a TV in our lounge for our guests and this would allow them to follow ONLY the italian channels, in order to have something more usefull for our many foreigners guests (satellite TV) we should pay more and more taxes, so, we decided to refuse the tv in the whole house. We don't own for ourselves a TV too, following news and everything else through the internet. Verona is so nice, even in the night, that we can miss some hours watching the TV, strolling around in the city instead. Thanks again for the nice review, and hopefully see you again in the future. Loved our stay at Avignon. The hotel is a bit out of town but has a bus stop from the door and for only 1.20 euros, you are in the city centre. The staff were great and the breakfast exxcellent. Pool was good as it was quite hot.
